This is a stand-alone book.
Strong but scarred. Hopeful but realistic.
On the run from an abusive alpha, Savannah must rely on a shaggy blond, brown-eyed man who makes her heart beat again.
Resolved to protect his mate, Dom must consider the consequences of not becoming an alpha.
While determined to be together, they must choose between their hearts and the pack they left behind.

Now the story itself, I remember reading the book a while ago and just got the audible the other day. I did not remember there being so much whining from the women in the story nor how wish washy the heroine was in her feelings for her mate. These instances I found very annoying and killed the story for me. I get she and the others had trauma and issues with men becauseof it, but for being an alpha she wasn't much of a leader. Her title seemed like name only, since no one would listen to her or seemed to respect her. I felt that her beta had more respect, and she was barely in the book.
Don't get me wrong! The book is worth a read because it is a good story, just some annoying instances for me.
Best thing about this book, the narrator!
