About this listen

Supposedly, nature abhors a vacuum. I'm finding this is true in the worst way....

Defeating her evil ex-boyfriend hasn't exactly been the reprieve from trouble that Jade hoped for. When Alek's mentor shows up with an injured Justice and government agents start asking questions she doesn't want to answer, Jade's problems are just beginning.

Enemies new and old make their moves as a war looms on the horizon in this exciting ninth book in the Twenty-Sided Sorceress series.

I have read or listened to all the books in the series and had a hard time pinpointing why I like this writing style. Then it hit me... Annie Bellet is mixing first person and third person limited perspective. This gives her the intimate relationship with the reader while allowing to draw on the benefits of classical story telling styles.
Oh, and the story follows the well established author-reader expectations contract. You know what should happen next, just not how. This is why the author keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Well written.

Awesome

so very distracting after 7 books with the same narrator. his name is "EZ/Ezey/Easy", short for "Ezekiel". it's not "ezzy". If she's going to keep narrating these now instead of Folly, someone please let hollie Jackson know.

hollie still saying EZ's name wrong
