Publisher's summary

Already devastated by loss, Bourne is shattered by a report that his last friend in the world, Martin Lindros has gone missing. A CI deputy director, Lindros was in Ethiopia tracking suspicious shipments of yellowcake uranium and atomic bomb weaponry. His last lifeline to humanity, Bourne will not let Lindros go. Despite his hatred for CI, Bourne sets out to rescue his friend and finish the job: dismantling a terrorist network determined to build nuclear armaments by cutting off their source of money.

But Bourne doesn't realize that these men, Islamic supremacists, are leaders of an incredibly dangerous, technologically savvy group with ties from Africa, across the Middle East, and into Eastern Europe and Russia. They have predicted Bourne's every move, and are counting on his unwitting help in their plans to destroy America.

Bourne Betrayal

This was an excellent job, by both the author and narrator. Story was edge of your seat thriller that did not stop for a moment.
The story line kept you hanging on every word trying to guess what was coming next.
You will race through this audio book in record time, because you won't want to turn it off. The narrator made each character come to life. The author wrote a story that was not only belivable, but very full of suspense and action. Sound effects were great! Buy this one, you won't be disappointed. Unless you don't like action books.
Very good job, to all involved in this production.

Addictive!

This book gets off to a little bit of a slow start, but about 2 runs into it (I listen to audio books while I am running) you can't stop. I started out only listening to the book on my long runs, but only a few runs in, I was listening every day! Great book! Kept me running, had me at half marathon distance in no time!

Cheesy music

It was a decent story line but what is with the cheesy music? It was very distracting!

Great story...goofy sound effects

I love the Bourne series and this is a great book. The narration was read well but the sound effects were incredibly cheesy.

Just not the quality of the first 4

Would you try another book from Eric Van Lustbader and/or Jeremy Davidson?

Yes, but only after reading reviews well after release

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Nothing. Not as good a Jason Bourne, Definitely not the performance quality of Scott Brick, and obviously an attempt to perpetuate a brand rather than continue develop characters.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

He was boring and just not the quality linguist that Scott Brick is. Jason Bourne lost man points because of the narrator.

Could you see Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Betrayal being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Yes, but like the first 4 books, it will probably be a completely rewritten story and plot and not follow the book much at all.

Any additional comments?

I'm sure it's too late to save the brand from the cheap production course that it is on. Best now left up the screen writers and hope for the silver screen to make all of the money. Hope Ludlam got paid well, because his franchise is cheapened by the current format and production qualities of books 5 and on. Even book 4 was disappointing, but not as bad as 5.

Clever Bourne

I'm a fan of this series. It is a good spy thriller with some good twists and turns. I'd highly recommend this to spy thriller fans. Some of the twists can be assumed prior to it happening, but still a great story.

Excellent action adventure

The plot and narration were excellent. Since I had seen the Bourne trilogy in theater, I pictured Bourne as Matt Damon. Definitely a great read for Bourne fans.
