I like the book and concept of the story that takes you through the adolescent life of Danny Canterbury. In it, he struggles with the typical prepubest thoughts of a teenage boy, as well as, the continued struggle to understand what had happened to his childhood friend, Robin Vernal.

The narrator started out racing through the words. Eventually she slowed down but there was not enough variation between characters vocals. They ran together after a while. In addition, there was little indication when there was a scene change or a piece of poetry inserted which could cause confusion. I think that in this case, reading it is better than hearing it.

This is book 3. I jumped in on this book so I was a bit confused at some of what was going on. But overall this was a good story. I would recommend starting with book 1 though! Dominic Jericho writes an intriguing storyline and Holly Holt does a great job narrating especially since there is alot going on in this book! If the final book is any indicator this whole series is worth a listen!!

Did the story keep me engaged: • yes
Was there anything I found annoying: • there are some audio editing issues with duplicate phrases and production noises going on in the background.
Would I listen to it again: • a definite maybe

Story comment: Much better than the last one, much tighter editing with less irrelevant information. The pace and flow of the story is good and the change of narrator has added a better audio experience. I think given it's audio and not print, it could have benefited from something that differentiated the change in time periods (maybe something like announcing flashback / or the date period) would have been helpful.

better than the last one

I really tried to get into this story, but the lack of a real plot line, the several mispronounced words and the obviously amateur job of sound editing all combined to make this tale less than enjoyable. Add to that the fact that there's no real ending and I'm forced to give this one a thumbs down unfortunately. 👎

Not a lot of plot in this one.

Now this one is still a great story but I did get a little bit confused with going back and forth between the different times. However I still like this story. The narrator did a good job with this one. I would just say a little more editing but over all good.

Good listen.

The writer has a nice way of writing prose- very fluid and descriptive. The story was a little confusing. I don't know if it's because I didn't read books 1 and 2 (I was given this book for an unbiased review) or if it was because, as others have said, there was a fair bit of back and forth between time periods and this was not clearly delineated. So my review is about 3.5 stars just because it was an interesting (if confusing) story and I thought the author is an imaginative writer.

The narrator was good. I didn't have any issues with her speed and although i didn't find her voice changes compelling, i could tell she tried. I think I had some concerns about the editing because I did hear a few areas of repeated phrases one after the other but those are minor and didn't take away too much from the story itself.

good story if a bit confusing

I really enjoyed this story. It focused more on the mystery, and less on the day to day life of teenagers. More my speed. The story flowed nicely and had a great feel to it. Best of the series so far in my opinion. The narration on the other hand was not up to par with the rest of the series. The tonal quality was lacking, and frequently mispronounced words. Often times pronouncing differently each delivery.

I didn’t have high hopes for this book, but I was wrong it was so cute and funny it gets serious at times I think this is perfect for high school kids but not those in the younger other has some sexual talk and drugs in it you’re right this really was a good book and I am not the demographic for it but loved it anyway.

So good!
