About this listen

CIA agent Jordan Sandor's mission is more complex and has more at stake than any he has faced before. From Bermuda to the United Kingdom, from France to the deserts of Iraq, Jordan must face down villains both known and unknown, recognized and hidden, as he struggles to prevent the deaths of tens of thousands of innocent people.

Needing more help than ever, Sandor calls upon his usual group of talented associates, as well as top CIA analyst Beth Sharrow, a former lover still willing to risk her life and career to help Sandor. The action does not end until the explosive climax.

Fast Paced Action with Explosive Ending!!!!

This is the fourth book in the Jordan Sandor series. Once again this author has reset his own bar by writing a novel that may surpass his previous three. Although each aspect is not individually unique, the way this author has chosen to put them together certainly is. The plot is realistic and plausible, the characters are believable and the hero is flawed.
The book begins when Jordan Sandor is running late for a ceremony being held in a Hartford , Co courtroom honoring an old friend and former CO of his, now a federal judge. Just as Sandor reaches for the heavy oak door, there's an explosion of C4 and napalm in the courtroom. The door is blown off it's hinges knocking Jordan across the hall. It also gives him a head injury requiring surgery.
While recuperating Jordan is contacted by an old friend. His friend is in the financial world and has noticed some alarming trends along with even more alarming deaths of colleagues. He needs help.
At the same time an actress, a singer, a newspaper editor (who is a friend of Sandor's) and two others are kidnapped by terrorists.
Due to his injuries Jordan is ordered to stay out of it. He has a stake in all three incidents and decides to go on a ROGUE MISSION...
Again, Christopher Lane does an outstanding job narrating.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book.

5 star espionage thriller from Jeffrey S. Stephens

ROGUE MISSION is Book 4 in the CIA agent Jordan Sandor espionage series by Jeffrey S. Stephens. Like the three earlier novels in the Jordan Sandor series it easily earns 5 stars. Christopher Lane narrates all four novels superbly.

Jeffrey Stephens does not have the name recognition of other espionage thriller authors like Vince Flynn, Tom Clancy, Ben Coes, Brad Thor, Daniel Silva, Brad Taylor, Mark Greaney, Brett Battles, etc., but he does have their writing and story telling talents.

maybe I'm just getting old

I used to love the Mitch Rapp type novels with superhero types kicking terrorist butt. this book is nowhere near the level of a Mitch Rapp novel, but the concept is the same. our hero pretty much single-handedly saved the world. for those of you who still enjoy this type of genre, you'll probably enjoy this one as well. for me however, I don't think I'll continue with this series. just too unrealistic and at times illogical. in fact for me the book was simply not well thought-out.

more talk than action

Much of this reads like a very complex foreign affairs procedural. here are times where there's lots of action, but the plot is complex and the road to its completion is convoluted, and much of it takes a long time to make sense or at least take shape enough to be recognizable.
