About this listen

They're here. They ride. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Born of a match between good and evil, four siblings stand between hell's minions and everything they want to destroy. They are the Lords of Deliverance, and they have the power to ward off Doomsday...or let it ride....

Rogue Rider Jillian Cardiff came to this remote mountain town to forget the demon attack that almost killed her. Instead, she rescues - and falls for - a gorgeous stranger who has no memory of anything other than his name. Handsome, charming, and protective, Reseph seems like the kind of man whom Jillian can trust. But with hints of a troubling history of his own, he's also the kind of man who can be very dangerous....

Reseph may not know why he mysteriously appeared in Jillian's life, but he knows he wants to stay. Yet when Jillian's neighbors are killed, and demon hunters arrive on the scene, Reseph fears that he's putting Jillian in danger. And once it's revealed that Reseph is also Pestilence, the Horseman responsible for ravaging the world, he and Jillian must face the greatest challenge of all: Can they forget the horrors of a chilling past to save the future they both desire?

ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN

This was definitely the ultimate showdown as Reseph faces Pestilence once and for all. After everything Pestilence has done...I felt so bad for Reseph knowing that ultimately he was the reason for all the destruction that was brought to the world and his family. However, Reseph truly redeems himself in this book!

Reseph meets Jillian in the middle of nowhere after his memory is wiped clean, and as they both try to discover who he is, he falls in love with her. Not only does she change everything for him, but she makes him into such a better man than he even was before as Reseph. It really is a great love story, and one that requires a lot of sacrifice on both sides.

Like the last two books, there was a lot that happened in this one too. From Lemos, Harvester, and Reaver...there are some shocking revelations as well as happy moments that come to light in this book, and it makes me so very anxious for the next book which won't be out until later this year...but I'm sure it will be worth the wait!

I'm crossing my fingers that they bring back Hilary or change the narration. Although I think Erin may have improved a little, I was still disappointed...as it prevented this one from being really great!

Reseph Rocks - Excelllent Series End!

I'm sad the series has ended - the Lords of Deliverance series was one of my favorites - just awesome! In this book, I was not sure that I would like Reseph, as he was an evil jerk in the prior 3 books, but Larissa Ione is brilliant and she turned him into a delicious, charming, totally hot hero. The twists in the book are unpredictible - I could not stop listening!

If you are new to this series, you really must read them in order. The story is so complex with lots of characters/history, that you really need to read the prior ones to fully enjoy this book. All the books are worth the credit. I can't emphasize enough how good an author Larissa Ione is - she creates a world that is unique, interesting, complex, passionate - she is one of my favorite authors.

The only downside - the narrator Erin Bennett. She is rather boring, which is unfortunate, but this book is so excellent that you can overcome the poor narration.

Good story, awful narrator!

The story is good but the narrator is just awful. She simply reads the text as if it is a technical manual! In fact I have hread technical manual or meeting presentations to be read with more feeling than she reads this story!

Great series

Would you consider the audio edition of Rogue Rider to be better than the print version?

It is good to have audio if your eye sight is felling you or if you need something to listen to besides music. Audio and print version is about the same. The series is really good. I would listen and read it again.

What did you like best about this story?

How the good of love over powers evil.

What about Erin Bennett’s performance did you like?

Great narrator. Smooth flow

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

All the above and more.

Fave Series Continues

Great job of creating one of the most hated and feared villians I've ever read. And then to make me root for his happy ending. Priceless! Larissa Ione is a fantastic author and the reader of this book did a great job of bringing her characters to life. I highly recommend all of her books.

The mark of a great author is to be able to redem the irredemable!!
I never though i would feel a connection to Pestilence, but I think i was more connected to him than i was to any of his siblings. Great Job L.I.!!

It was good but....

The characters are really well done. It's one of the things I like best about her books. In this case the plot was a bit problematic. It was a bit contrived but not so much that I wouldn't recommend it. It just wasn't quite up to her usual five star ratings. I know part of it is set up for her next book but still.....

Erin Bennett did a great job narrating.

This book needed to be longer!

This particular installment is one that you have to have read the previous books to fully grasp the activities in this book. We start off almost immediately after the last book ended, finding Reseph butt-naked (no complaints here) in the middle of snow, snow, and more snow where a kind-hearted and self-sacrificing Jillian finds him and drags him to her cabin to nurse him to health.

Reseph is not what I had expected because as a spectator, I've only ever saw him as Pestilence. Even though there were intermittent memories brought on by his siblings as to the type of person he was before his seal broke, it was hard not to see him as absolute evil. The Reseph we are introduced to in this book is playful and so very sexual I felt almost sorry and jealous (ha!) for Jillian. There was no way for her to win the battle of her heart when it came to him. Reseph on the other hand falls hard for her and even without the full capacity of his memories, he knows he loves her and is positive he never felt that way about another female. Their love story is sweet and Ione does a fantastic job at softening the reader to Reseph and she is a master at creating caring and loving, yet insanely badass chicks as we see in Jillian.

My biggest complaint with this book is that it needed to be longer! Reseph had a lot of ground to cover after the destruction he had done and I felt like the story moved very quickly, but not in a fast-paced, action-packed way, but in a way that left the reader detached from all the happenings. Results or after-maths were told in dialogue rather than shown. I think I had the same issue in the last installment where I felt like the story was not as richly depicted. I also was expecting a bigger to-do when they came up against the Aegis, especially after what happened in the last book, but when the scene came I was a bit disappointed. I mean I'm not looking for a Michael Bay rendition, but more of the complexity and development of the characters during these types of situations. Also (I always seem to whine about this, but I can't help it, I love the characters in this series) I wish there was more of the past characters besides the four horsemen, i.e. the Sem brothers and their growing family.

I guess I'm just being greedy. I love the Lod and Demonica series that Ione has created and I want more.

There is a huge revelation and when that part came around I was whooping. Yup, whooping and yelling "I knew it, I knew it," around people who didn't know I was "plugged" in (*^.^*) which then required some explanation as to what I knew.

I can't wait for the next installment! It's gonna be brilliant I can feel it! I hope Ione doesn't stop writing this series because it is one of the best!
