Publisher's summary

A book with bite and “a gem of a heroine”- third in the series from the author of Dead Sexy.

It’s been one heck of a week for Garnet Lacey. The Vatican witch hunters finally think she’s dead, the FBI has closed their file on her, she’s co-founding a new coven - and the gorgeous vampire she loves has just asked her to marry him. How lucky can one girl get? Then, her fiance goes missing and Garnet’s worried sick. Has he been kidnapped? Or could he have run off with that blonde from the coven? Now Garnet will have to seek the help of her future stepson - the same brat who turned her over to the witch hunters for a brand-new Jaguar. But there’s more bad news: the Goddess Lilith, who camps out in her body, has been making embarrassing appearances. And on top of that, some killer’s on her tail...

Best of the series so far

I thoroughly enjoyed this latest installment of the series. Garnet was more likeable and less inclined to kiss other men. Sebastian was missing for a large part of the story and that was tough. I liked how the story developed and the pacing was good. Mainly I liked the fact that Garnet did not make any of her signature stupid decisions. That was a welcome change. It felt almost like the series was wrapping up. I look forward to the next book.

It's like Telamundo, you can't not listen

OK, I listen to anything Amanda Ronconi narrated. But have come to like the books. But I am troubled by the haplessness of Garnet and the ease at which she falls into another's arms. But I do enjoys the book very much.

Great listen

I like the narrator. She is a good performer. The story was well written with several funny parts and some steamy, but overdone sex scenes. I like how the main character has progressed in her development.

While I enjoy listening to these books with vampire themes, I have occasion to get a little realist. Like doesn't the sex part require some bodily help on his part, but his heart doesn't pump? And what is he doing hungrily eating pancakes when his need is for blood? How does he "move" them through his innards without "bodily" help? Just me and a thought. I must not be up on the info.

I couldn't figure this one out . . .

Any additional comments?

and that's a good thing! Definitely not predictable. There's a lot happening so I listened to this one twice through. (I should point out here that most of the books I buy, I get the Kindle and Audible versions so I can switch back and forth if necessary.) Well-written as usual. There wasn't as much romance in this one as the other books in this series, but that was the way the story went. TH seems to let the story determine the sex scenes and the stories are always good! Gratuitous sex scenes don't usually make for a better read, so well done.

Garnet is good and all, but she's no Jane Jameson!

Would you listen to Romancing the Dead again? Why?

Sure if I was bored.

What other book might you compare Romancing the Dead to and why?

The Jane Jameson series, and unfortunately, this book wasn't even close.

What about Amanda Ronconi’s performance did you like?

Her voices are fun, original, and distinct.

Any additional comments?

Not bad, maybe if I hadn't listened to the Jane Jameson series first, I would have more passion for this book.

Read it and join in the fun

Was glad that I did not read my own review of the last book where I swore off the series before purchasing this one. This was back on track and as good as the first book. Still not "literature” by any means and not even in my top series that are about vampires and magic but a fun read when you are tired of “literature”.

That said, Garnet and the gang are back with another supernatural, wild, crazy and funny adventure. It is a great page turner mixed with plenty of sex, magic, bloodsucking and mystery when Sebastian goes missing.

Read it and join in the fun.

You just can’t beat Amanda Ronconi as a narrator. She has the “snark” in her voice.
