About this listen

The most riveting novel yet in Christopher Reich’s New York Times best-selling series - featuring Dr. Jonathan Ransom and his undercover-agent wife Emma, a dangerous woman with a mysterious past who has gone rogue in the high-stakes, serpentine world of international spies. In 1980, a secret American B-52 crashes high in a remote mountain range on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Nearly 30 years later, and spanning locales from those peaks to New York City, a terrible truth will be revealed. Jonathan Ransom returns as the resourceful doctor thrown into a shadowy world of double and triple agents where absolutely no one can be trusted. To stay alive, Ransom must unravel the mystery surrounding his wife - an enigmatic and lethal spy who plays by her own rules - and discover where her loyalties truly lie. Rules of Betrayal is a masterfully plotted novel that cements Christopher Reich’s reputation as one of the most admired espionage thriller writers today.

Christopher Reich again turns in an exciting, intelligent thriller. The Emma/Jonathon storyline continues to develop, and hopefully the author won't run that too thin in future editions. An entertaining read.

I love the suspense & delightful surprises. I can hardly wait to hear more about our Kerry characters.

Twists & Turns

Best book of the series. The action was on from the beginning and Ransom was in the thick of things beyond his control.

Book 3 of series

I love the book. Paul Michael has to be the best narrator I know. I do alot of driving. His characters just bring the book to life. It's hard to let go, it seems I just get sucked in.

Good book.

This is the second book I've read by this author, and I look forward to the next one. Kept my interest and the plot was good. Didn't dwell too long on any one point, as many novels do. Pacing was just right.

Reich returns with another fine effort. His character of Ransom, a surgeon with a less than perfect past, continues to remain fresh. The plot is well developed and Reich has taken his time bringing his protagonist along from aid doc to spy. The story is well paced and carries the listener along quite pleasantly. As far as espionage goes, this is meat and potatoes fare. Reich should plan on resolving the relationship between Jonathan and Emma soon or the dynamic will get stale.

3 for 3 for Reich

This is a very good read. The author does a great job of bringing everything together. All three books have been really good I would say 4.5 stars on this - Book 1 was a 5 star shocker, book 2 I would have given it a 3.75. Another good summer read !

Part 3 as good as part 1

These comments are intended to encompass all three of the books in the series (of which this is the third). Dr. Ransom and his wife Emma have contributed to my walking regime and have turned me into a long distance freak as I cant shut off the iPod when I am into their exciting narratives. I tend to really "get into" a book, if it is riveting. Any one of the three in this series so far qualify as very riveting. Others have described this as the "driveway effect," for me it is the "walk an additional mile" effect. The narration is appropriate and contributes to the enjoyment. I would recommend starting with the first book "Rules of Deception" and working through the three in order....then wait impatiently for number four to appear...(Please hurry Mr. Reich).

A Great Series...Can't wait for the next one
