Publisher's summary

From best-selling author Lisa Lang Blakeney comes a new contemporary football romance between a strong and silent tight end and the carefree woman who has always had his heart.

I unexpectedly lost my job and am in debt up to my eyeballs. Until my best friend - a.k.a. my lucky charm - Rush gets me my dream job working for the NFL.

We're best friends so this will be fun and easy. At least that's what I thought until I actually started the job and one of his teammates asks me out on a date. Then Rush starts acting strange.

Now our friendship feels like it's totally changing and I think we're both in over our heads. Drowning in feelings and desire that can no longer be ignored, but clearly frightens us both.

Um, you see where this is going, right?

Rush and Mia

An entertaining, charming and sweet friends to lovers romance. Rush and Mia are adorable together, their deep connection is beautiful but when intimate feels come into play this is where their communication falters. I enjoyed going on this journey with them. Fun story!

Basic Sweet Formula

I’ve liked all the books in this series so far. The best part being that they were included in the basic audible membership. I was just disappointed to find that the last book requires a credit which I do not have after down grading my membership so now I can’t listen to it. I guess that’s the “suck you in” market strategy…
All the books have used the same basic and predictable sweet formula; guy and girl get together, then break up over a misunderstanding and then get back together. I’m a sucker for a happy ever after though so I like it. My only real complaint is that the female narrator’s voice is just flat and somewhat emotionless unless she’s reading as another character.
Overall, I’ve enjoyed the series thus far. I drive a lot and they’ve been a good way to pass time.

Good but repetitive...

Another cute couple in this series and for the first time the shortness of the story wasn't such a big deal. Rush and Bird are the perfect opposites he needs some color and spontaneity, and she needs some care and stability. I enjoyed this couple's closeness, odd banter and easy of communication. My grievance and low rating are more for the series as a whole. I started off giving this series a 14 out 15 available stars because the novels though cute and fun were too short, a bit rushed and lacking in detail. I changed that on book 4 to a rating of 13 because it was obvious that although the couple was new each installment the sexy times were not. I'm rating this one at a 12. The five couples have each had their own struggles and personalities. How they have met, grown and ended up differs from the book to book yet in the bedroom all originality and authenticity vanishes. All the men seem to morph into kinda sorta dom's and say the exact same two lines. It's not a badly written scene nor was it boring the first time. But if LLB can create 5 totally individual couples, why can't she create their own individual and personal bedroom style? Outside of that I have enjoyed the series and I like LLB's style and wit the audio performers have done an awesome job and I have enjoyed listening to both of them.
