Sparks fly when a ruthless alien warrior meets the one woman who can save his soul...

Toran NaLosen has no future and no hope. His path is bleak: die at 30 or sacrifice his emotions to survive a few more years. Stranded on Earth and far from home, the last person he expects to meet is the one woman meant for him, his denya.

Iris Mason protects the Earth in her own way by investigating threats and reporting on them to the Sol Defense Agency. At work she's thriving, but personally the past year has ground her down and tested her resolve. Still recovering from the implosion of her last relationship, she doesn't want the risk that comes with a new man. But when her job puts her on a collision course with Toran, a lightning bolt of desire hits her and has her questioning everything.

These adversaries must forge an alliance if any bond between them stands a chance, but it may not just be their hearts at stake. An ancient foe of the Detyen race lurks wherever they look and he has a new target in his sights: Earth.

Each Detyen Warriors novel can be listened to as a standalone. Enjoy feisty women, alpha aliens, fated mates, and relationships hot enough to steam up your listening device.

This title makes perfect sense.

I recieved this book at my request in exchange for an honest review.

So lets just right in. This books picks up where Soulless left off. If you read my previous review my link text then you will know how I felt when it came to that ending. The Detyen Warriors are stuck on Earth while searching for who and why someone destroyed their home planet.

Iris is someone who is looking into why the warriors are on the planet and if they have any nefarious ideas when it comes to Earth. She is not a spy but she really wants to be one but is not at all good at it. I will get to that part in a bit. While she is searching she is ordered to talk to Toran, the leader of the Detyen squad. Toran, like any Detyen male, realizes that Iris is his other half. A lot of action happens within this book. There were times when I wanted Iris to sit down and not try to play super spy. There were a couple of times where she got them in more trouble then was needed.

This book had the previous H and h involved with their point of views. That made me so happy. Of course this book had Ian Gordon an Jennifer Gill. I am obsessed with Ian Gordon to the point where it does not make sense. I am so glad when I find an author that has him as their narrator.

Just ok

The narrator had me wanting to go to sleep. Author should use Savannah Richards.

The story was okay, but might have been better if I read it. Not sure I'll continue with the series. I'm still not even sure what these Aliens are?

A sexy and intriguing paranormal romance..........

Ruthless is the second book in this series featuring a futuristic Earth in which humans and aliens co-exist in relative peace. Although I read the first book and, therefore, might not be the best judge, I think this book can easily be read as a standalone. The authors have come up with an intriguing concept for our future, and I appreciated their skill in combining world building, romance, character development and action. I thought Toran came across as a cold, unfeeling jerk in the first book, so I wasn't sure what to expect with him as the hero of this story. However, once I understood the pressure hanging over him at all times, I could understand his reserved personality, and I was thoroughly enthralled by him in the end. I liked his love interest, Iris, from moment one. Due to a recent betrayal, she has also closed herself to emotional involvement, but she can't resist Toran's pull. Listening to her thoughts as she tries to convince herself that she can't love Toran had me laughing out loud several times. If you enjoy a fated mate romance with plenty of passion and action as well as some terrific secondary characters, Ruthless is an excellent choice.

The narration style for this series is a little different from any that I have heard previously. The story is told from the third person point of view, and Gordan does the majority of the narration. However, whenever a female speaks, Gill reads those parts. I wasn't sure if the narrators could pull off this intricate narration style, but they do so beautifully. Gill's light, feminine voice blends and contrasts in equal measure with Gordan's deeper, masculine voice. I see these narrators perform all the books in this series, so I will definitely be continuing with book three soon.

A good alien tale

Over all this book was pretty good! I liked the premise and the flow of the tale! Iris is sent to investiage if Toran and his buddies are for real or a threat to earth! however, she finds herself drawn to him and ends up assisting him in his investigations and falling in love with him!
I did find the switch between voices a bit irritating at first but once I got used to it, it wasn't too bad and I found it helped to have a female reading the female parts!

I recieved an ARC copy of this and am leaving this review freely and without reservations

Fun, Alien Romance 👽 Story

A lot had to be revealed from book one and I wish I knew the characters better from book one, but the book was able to stand alone. There was instant attraction with some chaotic situations and danger thrown in. Sex was graphic but nothing was played up on the alien part other than bumps and marks.
Writing wasn’t up there with the greats, yet, but it shows a lot of potential. Good character building and the small details were not ignored.
Narration was pleasant. I didn’t find any voice that was particularly off.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. My review is HONEST.
👏🏻 Applause for a fun story.

Ruthless!

This is a really good story! Full of action, suspense, danger, pain and steam! I really love the main characters! Toran and Iris are so great! The heat is off the charts between these two! Yormas is a real piece of work and Varrow is definitely a sadist Although this is book 2 in the series it can be read as a stand alone read. The author does a good job with back history so you don't feel like you missed anything. However, it does make you want to back and read the first one as well as jump on the third story, Heartless, to see what next in store for the Detyens' and their mates. I thought the narrators did a good job as well.

Enjoyed hearing both male and female narrators

Toran and the other Dentyens are on a mission to find out who destroyed their planet a hundred years ago. Their adventures lead them to earth.
Iris is sent to discover what the Dentyens want and if they are a harm to earth. She meets Toran and he discovers that she is his mate.
Together they go on a trip to the moon colony to find evidence to use against an alien from another planet.
I love the Dentyen books. The characters are strong and follow many adventures. I recommend these books to any alien lovers!

This is the first audible book that I have listened to that had both male and female narrators. I loved it!

A series I can get to like

I saw this series as a recommendation. I can see why. It is a similar kind of genre to MK Eidem's books. Also, the same two narrators that narrate most of her series are the narrators for this series.

Since I was given this book to review it, I decided to go ahead and get book one of the series and listen to that first. I actually like it. I admit that it is similar to most of those alien falls for earth women stories but there is action and no insta love which is good. Not a bad series and you would not be wasting a credit to listen to it.

Great Paranormal/Aliens Romance!

This was my first book from Kate Rudolph and Starr Huntress. This is the second book in the Detyen Warriors Series, a great Sci-Fi/Aliens Romance. This story can be listened as a standalone, but I wish I had listened to the first book in the Series before. Toran and Iris are great characters. They are soulmates, and they share a sizzling chemistry. The storyline is complex, intriguing, and action packed. Now, I can't wait for the next book in the Series. The world building is well done. Ian Gordon and Jennifer Gill did a great job with the duet narration. I enjoyed my listening. I was given a free review copy of the audiobook — at my request — and have voluntarily left this review.
