Publisher's summary

Growing up, goody-two-shoes Kirra Jacobs and troublemaker Reef McKenna were always at odds. Now paired together on Yancey's search-and-rescue canine unit, they begin to put aside old arguments as they come to see each other in a different light. Then a call comes in from the Iditarod that will push them to their limits. Kirra's uncle, a musher in the race, has disappeared. Kirra and Reef quickly track the man, but what they discover is harrowing. Frank's daughter has been kidnapped. In order to save her, the man must use his knowledge as a mechanical engineer to do the kidnapper's bidding or she will die. Kirra and Reef, along with the entire McKenna family, are thrown into a race to stop a shadowy villain who is not only threatening a girl's life, but appears willing to unleash one of the largest disasters Alaska has ever seen.

Loved it!

I've enjoyed the whole series about the McKenna family. Piper is my favorite character, but I enjoy reading about the adventures and relationships of all the siblings. This one, featuring Reef and Kira, had some interesting plot twists and red herrings. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great balance of Suspense & Faith!

AMAZING SERIES! Such a great end to an epic family saga!

The ONLY thing that got me on this one was the use of the word "snowmobile". I'm an Alaskan and we don't call them that. We call them snowmachines, but that's ok the lower 48 can be wrong. LOL!

THANK YOU DANI FOR AN AMAZING STORY! THIS WAS MY SECOND TIME THROUGH AND I CAN'T GET ENOUGH. WHAT A GREAT AUTHOR. The way you balance the mystery and suspense with the love and romance is superb!

Book 5 in Alaskan Courage series. Best series eve

Kirra is a native of Yancy who went away for college but has returned to take over her dad's vet clinic. We know that from Kayden and Jake's book. Kirra is the neice of an Iditarod racer, Frank, who is forced to leave the race and break the law. Kirra's cousin, Meg, is kidnapped to insure Frank completes his task before the race ends.

Reef McKenna is the last of his family to find God and love. He is Kirra's life long nemesis (since age 5 when he called her stinky girl at recess) and SAR partner during the race. When they discover Meg has been kidnapped and Frank is being forced to do things he would never consider, they band together to save each other and Kirra's family.

I have loved each and every book in this series. Every book including this one starts off with action and suspense and never looses momentum.

Fantastic Series

I thoroughly enjoyed these 5 books. I feel like I got to know the McKenna family really well. The characters were all so lovable and well developed. I wish I could read more about them. There was just the right mix of romance with mystery and adventure. I loved the
sweet Christian spirit that was incorporated as well. I felt good reading these stories and they were such fun! I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to read an exciting story with good clean fun and romance with faith promoting experiences. Thank you Dani Pettrey!

Occasional reader

I enjoyed this one, just as I did all of the ones before it. I am just sorry this is the last one in the Alaskan series.
