NEVER FAILS TO AMAZE ME

I have listened to the audiobook, and I loved it so much because of how it really mixed fantasy and depth of reality together. I loved all the characters, how diverse they are aside from their way of talking, and how the story is written based on its plot.

However, I might say that I am disappointed in some parts of the audio because it had created different imagery in my head. I think the quotations really give the book character and uniqueness, and the voices of Fidget and Sarah could have been given more power and accent to create that unique image. Overall, I love that I get to listen to this book because it never really fails to amaze me every time!

Fun and Magical

Sally and the Magic River is a picturesque book that will surely appease people of all age groups. It's a fun magical adventure that will relive childhood nostalgia and innocence.

Listening to this audiobook is a magical experience that I will sell my soul in order to do for the first time again. I was caught off guard by how the narrator really brought out all the magical elements and somehow even made it more magnificent. The plot of the book is fairly straightforward, and it follows the life of a young girl as she ventures in and out of consciousness in response to her living through a traumatic event in her life. As the book goes on, she learns how to use the world she has created in order to become a better person and remember not to dwell on what’s not real.

Very interesting.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I was expecting this to be closer to the story of wizard of oz as I had read a synopsis stating that it was like that. But it was more of a story on its own with distant similarities to the wizard of oz.
I really enjoyed it. I feel that this was more of story of remembering to be yourself and to not care what others think. If you put your mind to it then you can accomplish it. This would also be a great story for kids.

Amazing, creative plot !!!

This book reminds us to not take any moment for granted and to appreciate our childhoods more. Sally is the perfect character to make us realize just how precious the little moments are, and I really love how she is portrayed.

Plotwise, this book is amazing. I never thought fantasy and reality could coexist together. But in this book, those elements are perfectly blended together. I love how the narrator makes the words come to life and makes you feel like you are part of Sally’s journey. That’s really what made this book extra special. Sally has a special place in my heart, and I really enjoyed every moment of reading this book. Frank Gaertner has really made a story that the world should know about!

What a Magical Story

Awesome indeed! From the dreamy music to the tone of the narrator saying words that captivate you, this book cannot get any more perfect than it already is. Sally and the Magic River is a story of a girl who is in a fantasy world surrounded by her unorthodox friends. In reality, she is a girl who is in a coma and has been dependent on her fantasies in order to escape the tragedies that have befallen her life. The book is narrated in a way that makes you really listen, the storyteller knows exactly what to do with the words, and she manages to make the already vivid words come to life. I will never stop recommending this book. It’s one of the best things I’ve heard!

Amazing Audio Book

The audio version of the book is just spectacular. It was like the voice was made for this book. The first chapter showcased how neutral and powerful the voice is, but chapter by chapter, we can really hear how versatile she is. My most favorite is when she transitions from a character to a narration. It is so smooth, and it is not confusing at all to understand. There is clarity; it really highlighted the story and the personalities of each persona introduced.

What I really adore about this book is how the world is built; it was a familiar environment. But we can see how powerful perspective is because we see it through the lens of a creative and imaginative girl that believes.

An extremely heartwarming book !!!

An extremely heartwarming book, Sally's story makes us realize just how important it is to savor childhood innocence and to live each memory with great regard. This bittersweet tale is told in such an enchanting manner. You will find yourself clinging to the words that the narrator says and entranced by the whole journey of Sally and her friends. This is a perfect escapism book, one that will even match that of Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland! I found myself yearning for the adventures I’ve had with Sally after listening to this audiobook, and I can say that I became a better person through reading this book. Ten stars! This book deserves all the recognition in the literary world, and I can’t wait for what’s more to come.

What A Magical Book

Is all that we see or seem but a dream within a dream? -Edgar Allan Poe

The author had started the book strangely, from a mellow and deep quote to a breathtaking chasing which made it more interesting. At first, I did not like the pacing of the book because I thought it would be too strong, but as the story continued, I got to understand it more. It was fiction, but one of those kinds of fiction which play with your thoughts with magic and imagination as if we are all going back to our childhood days. It is such a fun and nostalgic experience having to experience being in the eyes of a young girl named Sally. Also, the way the story is told fits the story. It was neither too emotional nor too timid and emotionless, it made a new mood of voice, and I loved it.

Worth the Time and Money

I feel like I learn more each time I listen to the audio version of the book. Yes, fiction can be like that. Following Sally’s journey has taught me many things.

The audio had given me goosebumps because of the mood it had sent to me. It was both familiar and strange, starting with an action chase, and I followed it, catching my own breath listening. It had introduced the characters slowly and had built the scene and mood of the book as the story continues to unveil.

I think the start of the book really impacted me, it was not the best start of books, but I cannot think of other best ways of starting this particular story. Overall, the book is really about rekindling and reminiscing our dreams and passion, and I had a great experience. Even though the book turned out to be unexpected for me, it was a good kind of surprise that you will look for in other books.
