About this listen

Before he was betrayed, Caine was still an assassin.... In this explosive mission from his past, can he prevent war from consuming the Middle East?

Thomas Caine is back in action....

As the CIA's deadliest operative, Caine is tasked with eliminating America's most dangerous enemies. But Caine is a professional. His missions of death have rarely been personal. Until now.

A fellow operative is killed on an icy New Zealand mountain. A shipment of vital medicine disappears from a UN cargo container. And a CIA cargo plane is shot down in the vast Empty Quarter desert. These seemingly unrelated events are all linked to a shadowy operation, known only as SANDFIRE...and if exposed, the fallout could compromise the US-Saudi alliance, and engulf the Arabian Peninsula in war.

Caine travels to Yemen to locate the missing plane, and track down his friend's killers. But his investigation reveals other secrets lost in the wreckage. Secrets powerful men will go to any lengths to keep buried in the endless sands....

Get ready for another Rapid Fire adventure! Listen to Sandfire, and plunge into an explosive mission from Caine's past today.

SANDFIRE---What An Outstanding Book & Performance!

WOW!!! Yup, that's right my highest rating! This intense, fast-moving thriller starts out fast with deadly action ! It does NOT stop! From snow-topped mountains to largest desert in the world, Thomas Caine leads us through danger time and again. This story is a riot of action. One particular scene I really had me on the edge of my seat. Thomas and two of good ones are heading out into desert, hoping to get to the site where they should/could/would find what everybody is looking for ( or not). When a massive sand storm comes roaring across the desert!!! No place to hide, no place to go! Andrew Warren wrote this segment excellently and delivered by Chris Abell ( my Thomas Caine ) expertly!!
I definitely highly recommend SANDFIRE!

Sandfire - an action packed thriller!

This was my first Thomas Caine listen, and... WOW! The authors sure know how to pack in the action. The storyline is fast paced and well thought out.

The narration by Chris Abell was expertly done. I’ve listened to his work before and have never been disappointed.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Overall, just what we love about Caine

Very exciting, full of action, chasing and shooting. There's intrigue and underhandedness and political subterfuge going on. All this is great and will keep you glued to your earbuds till the end.

The 5th star is shot down by the many editing errors or misses. Some are author error, some may be the narrator.
Probable author/editor mistakes:
1. a man was "thin and emasculated" when he really was emaciated.
2. the people were "inflicted with cholera". "Afflicted" would be correct.
3. "he didn't deem to look at her." "Deign" is the right word.

Narrator mistakes:
1. pronouncing "clambered" as "clamored"
2. pronouncing "cinnamon-hazed skies" as "cinnamon haze disguise"

This sort of thing drives me crazy. I'm not a hateful person, I am not a spider looking to leap on errors; this stuff just jumps out at me. I figure books and audio should be correct before they are released to the public. I will let a mistake or two go, but not this many.

I have enjoyed the Caine books and will continue to read them. They are exciting and well-plotted. fix these little things and it's 5 stars all the way!

Exciting thriller you want to listen to

Really enjoyed this story. The fact that it is an audiobook is even better. Excellent performance of this thriller by Mr. Abell who excellently narrates the story and portrays the different characters as they would act and sound in the many different situations they find themselves in. Lots of twists and turns which make for a very enjoyable read. Highly recommend.

Warren & Bailey Make A Great Thriller Team

4.5 out of 5 stars

A plane crashes in the desert – we’re not sure if anyone survives (we’re told that a major player dies on it). The plane is also carrying much-needed medicine to a disease-torn area. On top of all this, there was something even more important on this crashed plane – a data stick that could bring down some high up people and ruin a major political relationship. Since dropping out of the sky, anyone who has seen the crash or the dropping plane has been kidnapped or murdered. The US sends in Thomas Caine, overall BAMF, and current assassin to try and find more info.

Sandfire is not my first Caine book, but it is my first book co-authored by Aiden L. Bailey. While talking about the upcoming release, Warren mentioned that I should be excited about Bailey (and now I can see why). Sandfire was a blast from beginning to end. A Bourne-like thriller where Caine is able to get in and out of situations that you’d never expect.

The writing is fast-paced and allows for little or no time to think about what is going on. Warren and Bailey keep the pacing fast to allow for a quick story without losing out on the important stuff. In yet another “Caine before he was betrayed” book – there is a further insight into his past and more about who he really is as a person. I love getting that background info and learning that Caine is a deeply good man who is forced into bad situation after bad situation.

There is trickery and deceit and lives are at stake. Terrorists will have their heads roll and Caine will do everything he can to keep his promises.

A fun read from beginning to end that I flew through.
