Good story, but a Southern narrator is better

Critic reviews
“Narrator Kathleen McInerney's perky voice and sweet tone engage listeners with this light summer read. Beautiful florist Cara Kryzik has had a run of bad luck, but true love and the chance to be the "go-to" florist for the wealthy brides of Savannah are there--just out of reach. McInerney easily transitions between the voices of determined Cara; her brusque father; hunky Jack Finnerty, her love interest; and Bert, her flighty and funny assistant. A great listen for a day at the beach or a rainy day curled up on a couch.” —AudioFile
“Narrator McInerney reads in a lively tone bringing both empathy and humor and flawlessly delivering fun character voices. This entertaining chick lit/romance is perfect for a lazy summer at the beach.” —Publishers Weekly

Another wonderful book by Mary Kay Andrews
I have read ten of Mary Kay Andrews books now, it seems that every time I finish one I miss the characters, and every time I start a new one I think I won’t like as much as the last but everyone I do. This one had everything I love, a little humor, style and always love.

I DO love this book!
What did you love best about Save the Date?
Fun & light! Perfect way to start the summer. Cute characters, fun plot, great twists & turns.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I would have to say Jack. I loved to sit and picture him in real life. He was a level-headed & strong character. Quite bull-headed in the beginning but Andrews' depiction of him opening up to Cara was beautiful. Jack just seemed like a loyal friend that I would love to have.
Which character – as performed by Kathleen McInerney – was your favorite?
Zoe, Jack's crazy ex-girlfriend. LOVED McInerney's portrayal of her! She totally captured the shallow, selfishness of the character.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely! Hated to turn it off each & every time, and was sad when it came to an end.
Any additional comments?
Wonderful book! A huge improvement over my last disappointing choice. Andrews is an excellent author. Will definitely be purchasing more of her works.

Sweet Story
What made the experience of listening to Save the Date the most enjoyable?
the readers voice was very enjoyable to listen to. Easy to understand, clear.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The main character Cara reminded me of my daughter so much I guess I would have to say I was fondest of her.
What about Kathleen McInerney’s performance did you like?
Everything, very pleased.
If you could take any character from Save the Date out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Jack or Cara sound delightful

love love loved it!
Would you listen to Save the Date again? Why?
I would definitely listen to Save the Date again. The narration was flawless and the story was great. I couldn't stop listening and was disappointed when it was finished.
What does Kathleen McInerney bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I love listening to audio books, but Kathleen McInerney is the best narrator I have experienced thus far. I felt like I was part of Kara's world as I listened.
Any additional comments?
This is a perfect audio book for summer. It is carefree and light.

True Mary Kay Andrews!
What made the experience of listening to Save the Date the most enjoyable?
If you enjoy Mark Kay Andrews, you will love this book! The narrator is excellent and has narrated her other books from Audible. As always, couldn't finish it fast enough.

I liked the book but I hate when there is all this build up and then it just ends. What happened to Cullen? Frustrated.

Delightful!!
This was one of those books where once started, not much got accomplished that couldn’t be done while listening. I just couldn’t put it down. Needless to say – the laundry is caught up since this is a blissful thirteen hours of listening pleasure.
Mary Kay Andrews just never disappoints. She always gives her readers the ability to quickly become fully immersed into a story. In order to do that, she has to draw a vague picture of where she is going pretty early on. I like that. Others call it being predictable, I call it cutting to the chase. Save the Date is certainly no different. Cara, a florist in Savannah, Georgia has a new business, a new dog and a great deal on her plate Who just doesn't love weddings and the miles of drama that they bring. It’s interesting that the main love interests in this adventure are the least colorful of the character but, with so much colorful southern “charm”, someone needs to be just a little neutral. I don’t see how I could have enjoyed it any more than I did. Great way to start off the summer!!
I greatly enjoyed the cameo appearances!!!
