Publisher's summary

Grayson Hayes doesn’t remember things as well as he used to, but he’s sure his time is running out. Diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s, he realizes he has a small window of time left to right a terrible injustice―he just can’t remember what it is.

Convinced of the importance of his mission, he embarks on a journey to the small West Virginia town of his childhood hoping he can put together the fractured pieces of his memory and set things right. But as the past becomes more clear, he wonders if God forgives the sins he can’t remember.

A thought-provoking story with challenging themes, this book deals with issues like

  • what it’s like to care for a loved one with memory loss,
  • how to live when you feel like you’re losing yourself,
  • what it is that gives value to a human life, and
  • the eternal power of forgiveness and second chances.

Saving Grayson is a wrenching yet hopeful story of a journey to right unknown wrongs and of holding on to what you know even when it feels like everything is slipping away.

wonderful story

"Saving Grayson is a heart-wrenching and thought-provoking story that delves into the complexities of Alzheimer's disease and its impact on relationships. The author masterfully offers a glimpse into the mind of the protagonist, Grayson, as he struggles to recall memories and navigate his fading sense of self.

Through the characters' emotional journeys, the story explores themes of betrayal, anger, bitterness, and unforgiveness, making for a deeply relatable and emotional read. I found myself reflecting on my own experiences and the importance of forgiveness, particularly when faced with hurt and wrongdoing.

The author's portrayal of the caregiving dynamic between Grayson and his wife is both poignant and realistic, highlighting the challenges and sacrifices that come with loving someone with Alzheimer's.

Overall, Saving Grayson is a powerful and moving story that encourages readers to cherish the beauty of forgiveness and the preciousness of human connection."

what matters most

Enjoyed the listen and development of characters. There was ample revelations to build the story/plot. Very moving story of love and loss. My only criticism is the length was excessive and too much depth on inconsequential details. Overall I recommend

outstanding

I love the ebb and flow of the story throughout so many views. I could feel as though I was on the adventure with them as the narrator spoke.

Great Book

I loved that the story continued to unfold, there was always a mystery or question you were anxious to have answered. Listened to the entire book in one day.

Moving and Meaningful

Excellent character development, engaging story and an end I did not see coming. I have read three of Chris Fabry's books and enjoyed all three. This is my favorite.
