Read them all

I can't believe it's been it's taken me so long to review this book! It's an absolutely amazing story. The characters are maturing and show great depth. I have listened to this book many times. Richard's appearance was genius. I love this series so much that I've listened to them all many times.

Another good one!

Wish it had been a bit longer! Like the nain character’s evolving understanding of his job, and the relationships with other characters.

Good book series.

I really enjoy these books. I've read two in the series so far. Getting ready to start the third! The stories are engaging and keep you guessing until the end. I also really like the characters and their interactions together. My only complaint is that you have to read several books. The series could be combined into either two books or one big one. Just a thought.

A satisfying sequel

The Crowner and his clerk have another adventure investigating a murder in a different towne within the shire. The story and performance are top notch just like the first book! It never feels overly complicated to understand the character motivations as they’re well grounded in their time period. Remy seems to relish his role as quasi-detective inspector whilst the righteous Brother Edmund busily protests that he follow rules & protocols in his wake. They balance each other well and their dialogue exchanges are very naturally delivered. The narrator does an excellent job with the voice work. Audible often adds these titles to the membership catalogue and they’re worth the time if you want to enjoy historical mystery fiction!
