Publisher's summary

In book two of Joe Nobody's highly acclaimed series, Secession, the Republic of Texas becomes the target of a diabolical plot hatched by international terrorists.

The task of saving the new nation falls on the Texas Rangers. Zach and Sam soon find themselves embroiled in a desperate struggle to unravel the intricate scheme before the Republic is drawn into a multi-front war it cannot win.

Secession II: The Flood is a fast-paced tale of the challenges faced by the vulnerable, fledgling democracy. Only the strength of her people and the actions of the two rangers can overcome the treachery and cutthroat politics of the global community...to ensure that the Lone Star Nation survives.

Excellent book

Excellent book, the only problem is the narration using Hispanic accent for Arabic characters and others. The story was well written and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys political thrillers

Not what I was hoping for

Well I thought this book would sorta have a different point behind it. Book 1 was based off the actual idea of Texas Succeeding from the US and backed by relative facts. Book 2 picked up roughly a year later, but focused on the 2 main characters. I felt the ending was hurried and it closes with 'The End' but doesnt actually tie up a couple lose ends.

Book deserves a better narrator

Great story but the narrator did the characters and story an injustice. He doesn't do characters very well and doesn't always keep track of characters' accents/voices. Additionally, the narrator mispronounced some words here and there.

Great story; Mediocre orator

I’ve read two books in this series. And it’s not at all what I thought it was going to be. It’s a great mystery type story, full action and character development. But the story is greatly diminished by the robotic and plastic voice of the orator. I’ve been a fan of Joe Nobody for sometime, but this series of books was quite a departure from his normal genre. I’m looking forward to reading book 3, but I would be less than Homes if I stated I was excited about having to listen to the readers hum-drum vernacular.

Good sequel, moderately fair performance.

This was a suitable sequel. Storyline kept you engaged, however the narrator's submissive, often times, meek delivery of speech from what should be men of affirmative and decisive Texas Rangers was annoying. "iiii.... , ahahah..."

A bit choppy

There are some bits where transition from one event to another takes quite a leap of faith.

Not a terrible book, but not terribly good either

Go Ranger Bass!

While simple in plot if you like Texas Rangers you'll like this. Wake up Zach! Sam may be the one.

narrator was lacking

good story but the characters portrayed by Dave Wright were lacking.
Zackary Bass was portrayed as weak and indecisive. A TEXAS RANGER is a strong no nonsense individual.

Narrator

Still sounds like he HS. Studded for every voice but normal narration sounds normal. Other than than good story.
