Mixed martial arts fighter Reid Andrews’s chance to reclaim his title as light-heavyweight champ is shattered when he’s injured only months before the rematch. To make sure he’s healed in time, his trainer sends him to recuperate under a professional’s care - Reid’s best friend’s little sister, all grown up.

Disorganized and bookish Lucie Miller needs some professional help of her own. She’d do anything to catch the eye of a doctor she’s crushed on for years, so when Reid offers seduction lessons in exchange for 24/7 conditioning for the biggest fight of his career, Lucie jumps at the chance. Soon Reid finds himself in the fight of his life...winning Lucie's heart before she gives it to someone else.

Did anyone actually edit this recording?

I loved this book and the narration was great, but there was soooo much background noise I kept getting distracted. I heard airplanes, cars and numerous other sounds that really took away from the recording. Not the quality recording I have come to expect from my audio books.

Wonderful story a perfect mix of romance and love.

What made the experience of listening to Seducing Cinderella the most enjoyable?

Everything about it was great. I would have liked this book to be longer, other than that it was awesome!

What about Holly Fielding’s performance did you like?

Shes good but talks a little to softly and can make you want to fall asleep at times.

Any additional comments?

Seducing Cinderella, and Fighting Irish are wonderful books. The only book in this series so far I didn't enjoy was Rules of Entanglement. Couldn't stand the Heroine in that book and to much sex and not enough romance for me to feel the love between those 2. I am looking forward to the next 2 books in her series.

Meh...

This book is probably much better read than listened to. The narrator is ok, she has a decent voice, however she has no emotion and I kept hearing background noise, planes, cars maybe? I honestly can't tell you much about the story because the narration was boring and distracting with the other noises.
3 stars is actually very generous.

Good story but bad narrator!!!!

I started this book and I have to say the story held my interest but the narrator did not. It's a light fun read and I thought the characters were pretty relevant with fun dialogue.
However, by the third chapter I was involved in the story but could not take the narrator anymore. Fielding reads with such little emotion that I found myself drifting off and having to rewind over and over. If I wasn't rewinding I was falling asleep.
So, I actually downloaded the kindle version and finished reading it on my own. It was cute and I'm glad I did especially because at the end there is an excerpt of the second book that continues another story of Vanessa and Jax (secondary characters in the first book-- "Rules of Entanglement "). That book was actually really good. I liked it even more.
I recommend to read!

Very good start to the series :D

4 stars

This was a very good story. I liked both Lucie and Reid and enjoyed their story a lot. This is actually the first book I've read with an MMA fighter hero and I liked it. This is also the first book I've read by this author and I liked this enough that I've already bought book #2 from the series.

Lucie is a great physical therapist and a very nice woman but she's also very shy and doesn't see herself as attractive even though she is. She thinks she's plain and tends to dress down and in unflattering styles. Lucie was married briefly when she was in college and it was someone that was her complete opposite. It ended badly and so she's determined that her next relationship will be someone she's "compatible" with and not based on emotions. Lucie has been crushing on another doctor that she works with named Steven. They work well together professionally and have a lot in common so she thinks they'd be perfect together but he's never looked at her like a woman.

Reid is a MMA fighter and a good guy. He's had a lot of success and is a rich guy from his fighting career. He recently messed up his rotatory cup and needs a physical therapist to work with him to get him healed and ready for a title fight in 2 months. Reid lives his life for his career and his focus rarely strays to anything else. Anything with women is brief and physical. Reid has always had artistic leanings but never had time to indulge because of his fighting career but it's something that still calls to him.

Reid goes back to his hometown of Reno (he normally lives in Vegas when he's not on the road) for his physical training since his usual guy had something that kept him from working with Reid. Reid goes to this new person but hasn't met her before. He's surprised to realize that it's Lucie, his best friend's little sister...someone he grew up with as a little sister. When he shows at her office he realizes she's been crying he wants to know why. Lucie admits to him that she's been wanting Steven to notice her but he just got done asking her for her friend's phone number and ignoring the fact that Lucie is a woman. Reid thinks Steven must be a jerk but he offers Lucie a deal...work with him full time on his PT to get him ready for the fight in 2 months and he'll teach her how to seduce a man. Lucie isn't sure if it's a good idea but ends up agreeing to the deal. She takes some vacation time so she has time to work with him full time and Reid stays with her and her place so they can easily work together. Reid gets Lucie to get clothing that accentuates her figure instead of hiding it, gets her to wear contacts more and gets her help in the hair and makeup area. By the end of the makeover Lucie is looking good (although Reid finds he kind of liked her better with the glasses and messy hair) and Reid starts teaching her how to flirt. Although the lessons aren't supposed to get physical, Reid finds himself unable to keep his hands off Lucie and he doesn't know why, feeling like he's losing his mind because he can't stop thinking about her.

After the first week, Lucie goes to a baby shower for a work associate and Steven sees her there. Of course now that she's all spiffed up he's falling all over himself to ask her out (which in my opinion proves jerkiness on his part) and Lucie accepts. Around this time things are getting hotter between Lucie and Reid and they're both having trouble keeping their hands off of each other. They end up agreeing to take their relationship in to the physical realm but decide it's just during their training and after Lucie gets Steven and Reid goes back to Vegas it's over with no strings. This is easier said than done though because as they spend more time together and delve in to their physical relationship, both of their feelings get involved. Lucie finds that she's not as hung up on the idea of Steven after all. Reid is nothing like who she planned to be with but while her head tells her that Steven is the right choice, her body and heart are leaning towards Reid. When Lucie goes out with Steven, it's nice but it doesn't halt her growing feeling towards Reid. Reid start to recognize jealousy in himself the more he thinks about Lucie with Steven or any other man and he realizes he's falling for her. Unfortunately, Reid doesn't believe he's good enough for Lucie and also doesn't think they can make a relationship work between them if he's still fighting. Reid has a bout of relationship stupidity and tells Lucie he's leaving and there's nothing between them. I was actually quite proud of Lucie because she didn't take that crap lying down and argued with him about what he was throwing away (I hate it when most heroines agree with the split up to save face! Fight for what you want!). This didn't work though and Reid goes back to his life and his impending fight and Lucie tries to go on with hers. Thankfully, Reid realizes his mistake (after some serious thinking and a talking to from someone he trusted) and he goes after Lucie. He makes a pretty good effort (although I wouldn't have minded a little more groveling) and Lucie forgives Reid, starting them in to their HEA.

This was a very enjoyable story. I liked both Reid and Lucie a lot and was glad to see them get together. There wasn't really any action story line but the relationship story line was very good and interesting enough that I stayed fully engaged until the end of the book. I'm moving on to book #2 of the series right after I finish this review. I'd recommend this book. Thumbs up. :)

Good Story!

I've been doing a group re read of this book and boy did I have a much better experience this go around! I had read this book before but didn't have the same experience that I'm having now. I now see what the hype was about this book. Sorry it took me this long Gina! I've read other books by Gina Maxwell but this one right here took me to the MAX!!!! It started off as your typical "hot guy" helps the "shy girl" land the "guy of her dreams" but it became so much more. Way more. Walls are torn down, insecurities are shown, Reid and Lucie confide things in each other that they've never told anyone else. They slowly start to fall in love and all was right in the world until.....it happens. Once it happens I was so done with Reid. One thing you can't do is take back words and in my opinion what he said to Lucie was a real low blow. Reid didn't redeem himself enough for me and I ended up disliking him at the end of the story. I also purchased audio narration and the narrator did a good job with bringing the story to life.

My favorite Cinderella Story of all time

I love Gina Maxwell. She has a wonderful ability to tell a story that allows me to sink in, as if a fly on the wall inside the story.
Holly Fielding did a good job, however, the last 4 chapters, she sounded I’ll with a sore throat. Her breath intakes were squeaky and distracting. Her ability to bring life to the tertiary characters is lacking. I enjoy talented folks who are able to bring all characters to life.
I still list this as one of my top 3 favorite books (audio & non audio).

NOT CLICHE, MORE LIKE CLASSIC!

Awww, this was a great, romantic, swoon-worthy read with a modern twist on a classic story. And, who isn't tired of a Cinderella story? I know I'm not.

The unique aspect that Maxwell brought to the table in this book was the genuine feel of the leads. I thought they sounded realistic in their professions and I really enjoyed their easy-flowing and sizzling chemistry.

Reid Andrews is the epitome of hotness! He's an MMA fighter who was training to win back his title and I loved his confidence, smooth talk and he's just funny, and emotionally complex. I love his perspective on life and people, and the part of him that is connected to art and visualization. He's also a romantic soul…and I think this is what makes him a really great lover. WHOA!! The love scenes are really hot and smoldering! For the heroine, Lucie Miller, she was sweet, quiet and in dire need of a make-over in order to channel out her inner beauty (ok whatever about that…lol). I did like her wit and fast come-backs as she played around with Reid. I thought their connection and the way they fell for each other was believable and enjoyable. Reid is best friends with Lucie's older brother and you could definitely sense their ease, comfort and familiarity with one another since they go far back.

The Cinderella-take is cute, and there are some really beautiful moments, with a father-son relationship to mend, a plain Jane turned into a radiant beauty, a blossoming hot romance and an HEA that is the kind of stuff fairy tales are made of--What's not to love?

This is a good book when you need something short, sweet, and sexy. The angst is kept to a minimum, and sometimes you just need a book like that.

Narrator: Even though Holly Fielding was a little flat at times in her intonation, I got used to her and thought she did a very good job. The recording is of poor quality as there is background noise, but nothing too distracting. The book is still enjoyable and steamy hot!
