Publisher's summary

Don't let the shadow of envy color your joy.

You know that feeling, don't you? That heart sting when someone else receives the very thing you desire. When your best friend announces her engagement. When your sister says she's pregnant. When your coworker gets the promotion. You tell yourself you're happy for her, but something casts a shadow. That something is envy.

What if, in those moments, you were able to turn away from the green glow of envy and see the spotlight of God's glory shine on your friend? What if your first response was joy?

Join Tilly Dillehay as she uncovers seven common sources of envy and challenges you to change the way you think about God's glory. In doing so, you will learn to rejoice with others, you will experience greater contentment, and you will discover how to truly love your neighbor as yourself.

For every woman

I didn’t know how much my heart harbored envy until I listened to this Audiobook. Very informative and bible centered.

Convicting

So good and convicting! This book has been in my To Be Read list for a few years. A recent battle with discontentment sent me back to find a copy. I listened to the audiobook, but now I want a hard copy because I know that I'm going to want to research the many scriptures used myself as well as review the questions at the end of each chapter several times. This will certainly be a book that keeps on giving.

Excellent and Convicting

I appreciate the author's transparency. Her insights into her own struggles are eye-opening and convicting. I highly recommend this to Christian women everywhere. Even if you don't think you struggle with envy, most of the women in your Christian community will probably be locked in a struggle with this form of discontent to one degree or another, so it is a good thing to understand and deal with in your own heart. There were a few places where her wording was less helpful. I would probably agree with her on those points, but the way it's worded doesn't sound right to me. Other than that, this is excellent.

Relatable & Enlightening

The book speaks of how important it is to know what envy brings to our lives. Its effects to our relationships, physical & mental state, etc.

Very insightful and wisely authentic

Loved the book and content. Tilly has a keen insight into the human heart and is humble enough to honestly assess her own heart - which she shares for the edification and sharpening of her readers.

Garbage

First of all I’m neutral when it comes to religious. I’m not religious nor against it and will listen to a book if it’s good but has some religious content. This book however discussed me, you might think I’m mean but I’ve never hated a book this much! I tried so hard to finish it but every time I listen to it for more than 10min I start questioning why am I torturing myself and wasting my time! In one of the chapters she starts praising Jesus and how he was so great! How’s that gonna help someone overcome envy??She literally quotes the most common sense stuff from bible! Like how it’s okay to like money to avoid being poor based on a verse on bible, duh that’s pretty obvious! I don’t need bible to tell me this! If you looking for bible study this is a good book because literally every sentence is a verse from bible, I’m not kidding! The only worthy thing I heard in this audiobook was the fact that envy is the beginning of all other sins! That was interesting, the rest was worthless, I stopped listening 2 hours before finish, couldn’t listen anymore!
