About this listen

What if your ordinary interactions with family, neighbors, and coworkers are actually invitations to adventure with God?

Sent: Living a Life that Invites Others to Jesus invites you to grow joyfully with Jesus as you live out your true identity as sent to share Jesus with others. Heather and Ashley Holleman have fully embraced their identities as sent through nearly two decades of full-time ministry. With joy, they proclaim the name of Jesus knowing that God is always at work around us, that He is seeking and saving the lost, and that He is excited for us to do this work with Him.

In Sent, they provide insights and stories gleaned from their experiences so you too can live into your identity as sent. You’ll learn practical strategies for gathering those in your community through discussion questions and activities that teach everything from asking good questions to sharing your own stories of gospel transformation. Use this resource individually or in groups to grow in intimacy with Christ as you engage the world around you with the hope and love of Christ. When we believe in God’s desire to reach the lost, how we live our own lives changes, and we begin to partake in the joys - not obligations - of evangelism.

We are Sent

I love the truth of this book. Being sent is not another thing we do - it is who we are, our identity.

Encouraging and inspiring

This book provides clear understanding of what living a sent life is like. It removes the daunting part about having spiritual conversations with people. The way the authors live their daily lives is relatable. I was encouraged to be more intentional about caring for others; to look up from my own life and see what opportunities God might be directing me to.

My third time listening/reading

LOVED IT! This book is a subservient guide for being the light of Christ to the world around you. I just finished a hood study with a group of women. I have given the book to other people in my life who I think would love it. It is fabulous.

Very hard to really get into

I wanted to like it. I tried several times to restart, and I just could not get into this book. I liked the concept and the overview summary but just seems hard to relate to this person. I was not hearing anything different or extraordinary in their story.

Although I respect what they’re teaching.

This isn’t the practical book guiding you through the Scriptures to lead you into evangelism. Through excessive testimonies in uncommon circumstances, we are lead to evangelize in our common Christian walks. I do applaud the effort, but I am more encouraged by practical scriptures on evangelism than what this book offers. Evangelism should be a lifestyle and outflowing of the spirit, spurred on by the Holy Spirit. Praise God she’s had a room full of students and teachers to witness to, and a friendly neighborhood, God be glorified! But we need to be able to give an account for our faith, we need prepared for backlash and a realistic understanding that our efforts might not be as fluffy of an experience as hers even if we do everything right! Continue seeking, don’t be discouraged and hold fast to Jesus!
