About this listen

You've just written a book - a masterpiece, the next great classic, the single piece of literature that's going to be required reading 100 years from now, long after you're good and dead and most of mankind has been replaced by robots.

But...now what?

Can you afford an editor? How do you decide on a good one? And how much of it can you do by yourself?

  • Grammar
  • Style
  • Syntax
  • Plot development
  • Proofreading
  • Formatting
  • And, more importantly, cost-saving methods

Self-Editing on a Penny was created by an independent author for independent authors. Don't make the same costly mistakes I've made. Self-edit first.

This audio book is fantastic! I was nervous, of course, about trying to learn about editing through audio without my eyes seeing the pages and examples, but I do believe that the format of this audio made it even easier than reading!
There are two voices to help separate lesson from example, and the second voice uses strong vocal inclinations and cues to really carry across the use of grammatical and syntactical differences in writing.
I found myself smiling and laughing out loud, and walked an extra couple miles just so I could continue listening. It was a very fun book, and I plan to listen to it again and again until I have a better grasp on its lessons.
Highly recommended.

This guide is sure to please! It wins on so many levels. The tips are generous, clear, and engaging -- chock full of line by line examples of what to do, what not to do, and why! The narrators are perfectly collaborative, and the writing is often funny. Highly recommended! Eleven stars!

Generous tips! Engaging delivery!

The book has some good material, but long comparisons and examples "IS - SHOULD BE" are absolutely not for the audio format. If not for the last two chapters, summarising the tips and techniques I would give just one star. The hard copy, in contrast, might be interesting aid material for the writer.

Would be Good if Edited for Audio Format.
