About this listen

Haunted houses are scary enough without knife-wielding clowns. Especially murderous knife-wielding clowns. So thinks Ellison Russell, single mother, artist, and reluctant sleuth.

Now death wears a red nose, and Ellison is up to the blood-stained collar of her new trench coat in costumes, caffeine, and possible killers. Who stabbed Brooks Harney, and why? Money? Jealousy? Drugs?

With her mother meddling, her father furious, and her date dragged downtown for questioning, it turns out that Ellison's only confidant is Mr. Coffee.

Another Fun Read!

I really enjoy visiting the Privileged Upper Class World of Ellison Russell, a world I will never be a part of in Real Life, but nonetheless quite fun and refreshing. Lots of dead bodies, and all manner of mayhem ensues as Ellison unwittingly, but constantly, finds herself in the middle of one unsavory situation after another. Light hearted and cleverly written, these stories will keep your interest all the way through, and, after a while, may even become a little addictive!

the computer-sounding essence of the reader is much better on this book than the previous one but still could becread with more ease.

CLOWNING AROUND

This book was a real treat! Loved the plot & reader! Callie Beaulieu is THE BEST reader! She makes the books come alive!!

Once again, we were happily drawn into the web of Ellison and company, this time with a Halloween theme. The best one, yet!

Over the Mr. Coffee bit

The only reason I am leaving this review is because I am mad. Annoyed more specifically. The coffee bit was beaten to death in this one. “There are only three men I trust: Max, my dad, and mr. coffee.” “I went to Mr Coffee, he never lets me down.” Rinse repeat ad nauseam. I like the series, but the coffee bit stopped being cute in this book and yet the author was relentless with it. I’m gritting my teeth!! Enough! I actually bought a coffee pot because I was like wtf did I forget how good coffee is or something? I love coffee just as much as next law student but please stop. I will stop listening. I will.

Wow

As always, the mystery is well developed with lots of twists and turns. The characters are engaging with great story lines. The one thing that would make this story even better, would be for Ellison to tell her mother off one good time.

Loved it!

I think the stories get better as you see the characters grow and develop. The narration is wonderful and I love the interaction between the characters. Ellison is becoming her own woman.
