About this listen

Volume 3 in the best-selling Sentinels superhero novel series! The climax of the Grand Design trilogy! Trapped between a horde of superpower-adapting robots intent on devouring the planet, and an alien starfleet determined to wipe out both the robots AND the Earth, Pulsar and the Sentinels must find a way to defeat BOTH monumental menaces.

Of course, this would be the worst possible time for the dimension-hopping villain known as the Warlord to make his return...!

CRITICAL PRAISE:

"An awe-inspiring finale... No one, either in comics or prose, is doing superheroes better than Van Allen Plexico." --Percival Constantine, author of SoulQuest.

"Buoyed by astounding characterization. I could barely put it down." --SoftPixels.net.

"A smashing wrap up... triumphant, glorious... This is another solid winner." --Pulp Fiction Reviews.

What I would consider to be a great miniseries

If this were a comic book I would absolutely consider this a great miniseries, Like the Kree-Skrull war or the Infinity Gauntlet! I consider this to be the The Grand Design Miniseries, and it stands alongside greats like the Original Secret Wars and Kingdom Come. This was just a great series, and one that I will look forward to revisiting over and over again. It actually saddens me that this is over, but there is always the hope that Mr. Plexico could revisit this universe sometime in the future.

Book two, while awesome in its own right and stood alone on its own, was a bit of a set up for this book. Book three just kills it, Plexico takes the threads that he dangled before us in the first book, and weaves them into a flowing tapestry of golden thread. I've always appreciated his humor, but the gang at the end trying to come up with a team name was too funny. This book is wall to wall action, and it never lets up. Plexico cranks up the battles and the blood spilt, and he makes it a blast to experience. This guy knows how to write! I'd love to see an anthology book that focuses on each character individually, and then a finale with the whole team.

Again, Milan rocks the narration. He slams the bodies and takes the punches like a champ, and you have to wonder if he isn't a comics fan too, because he sure as heck seems to have a blast doing this series. I've really enjoyed his storytelling. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.
