Publisher's summary

Return again to the world of the Isles in Servant of the Dragon, a world with hundreds of warring kingdoms without a single overlord for many centuries. Now the sources of magic are reaching a thousand-year peak, and the present generation of sorcerers is the most powerful in the millennium. Follow the small band of heroes and heroines as they journey across these landscapes, these seas, to find their loves, their destinies and - for one - a crown.

Details and Perspective

David Drake through his imagination and attention to details brings a different world to life. Michael Page put his effort into breathing personality and artistry to Mr Drake's story. Both were wildly successful.

I like it

when I started the first book I thought that would be a wrap it was a little too lengthy I couldn't keep up with the characters but I went to the second got a little more interesting and the third book well it sensed it it was real good I don't know anymore that carry on with the characters but they seem to did what they supposed to have done good job Drake

Excellent book, great reader.

Excellent book, great reader. I don't see why I need to have 15 words when four will do.

Servant of the Dragon

Ever since I watched Millennium in the theaters, I have loved time travel stories and all the loopholes that go along with it. I can add this series as another favorite, so far.

A perfect conclusion to two thirds of OK

The Lord of the Isles series has been a strange fascination of mine, I picked up the first book early in the year and enjoyed most if it but there were some problems. While I enjoyed the characters they didn’t feel too deep and there wasn’t a clear plot structure until the end. Book two gave Garric a lot more purpose but the rest were mostly the same as the first, and the plot structure was off as well, still enjoyable but not perfect. This is the first book where I really appreciated the plot structure, it worked greatly to provide a thoroughly satisfying climax where every character felt important.

The challenge are just fine, they don’t change, but are still fun to be around, but the set pieces they cross? Pure delight Drake does a great job making each set piece feel awesome, just some great action scenes.

If you want a fun, albeit kinda mid, fantasy book this one is perfectly fine with a delightful finish.

Enjoy completely

I continue to listen to this series because the ends are all tied together. The books are well written and the flow of characters and time are fluid from one book to the next.

This narrator must leave a reservoir of saliva in his mouth while narrating

I enjoyed the story, however I am so distracted by Michael Page’s incredibly spitty performance, that some days I had to turn off the book and take a break in fear of gagging. I’m not normally this critical, and I’m sure there is an audience for the spitty performance, but Michael Page is not my favorite narrator. I can’t get past the amount of saliva I can literally hear swishing in his mouth while he speaks. It really turns my stomach.

Good reader

Story got lost in too many words. Too many lengthy comparisons and ramblings that took away from the plot

Love the Story, Hard to follow!

I really like this Series, but it's so chaotic. I am a book reader, but I also listen to the books alot as well. A 45 min chapter covering 3 storylines of repeated new characters, reintroduction of minor characters makes it a bit hard to follow. I personally love it, and am willing to go back and find some of these characters and such, but I wouldn't recommend this to any new novel enthusiasts and especially not a new audible user. I know this is a wasted comment, what's done is done.
