About this listen

For the modern world, it seems as if sexuality and spirituality have always been at odds. But what if the two are actually deeply connected? And what if science could prove this connection?

From neuroscientist Andrew Newberg, Sex, God, and the Brain argues that our religious and spiritual experiences derive directly from our sexual being. While others have speculated on a connection between religion and sex, Newberg is the first to demonstrate—with groundbreaking brain scan research gained through Orgasmic Meditation studies—that the underlying biological mechanism of religious, spiritual, and sexual experiences are identical.

With research technical enough for academics, but explained simply enough for the everyday reader, Sex, God, and the Brain, will reframe our understanding of the link between spirituality and sexuality.

I had high hopes for this book given others people I value recommended it and I find the topics in this book incredibly fascinating. But it was mostly just Dr Newberg talking words that reflected his thoughts and experiences while occasionally vaguely mentioning studies he's done or references from others work. I kid you not, I could trounce this book with my personal experience, knowledge on the topics mentioned and more relevant and more abundant science to back it all. No doubt Dr Newberg is a stellar man with a great reputation and lots of experience. However this book does not in any way reflect that experience or his intelligence or the in depth knowledge he has or research he has done on the topics in this book.

far too much opinion and perspective of the author with very little substance linked to his logic

I’ve had the great pleasure of studying with Dr. Newberg and getting certified as a Neuro coach through Mark Waldman‘s program

I am always learning from Dr. Newberg . This book is no exception. Thank you for breaching such a sensitive subject and presenting it in a way that is captivating fascinating and very interesting. As always evidenced based.

Thank you I look forward to your next book.
