About this listen

Nathan Cross is a struggling actor waiting tables at a local restaurant to make ends meet while he attends endless auditions. Though his hopeful career moves at a slow pace, Olivia is the strength and sunshine in his life...until she leaves him. One day, he is offered a contract with a modeling agent, leading him to work for Knight Fashion magazine - a dream job he never imagined would become a reality.

Olivia swore she would always put her career first and that's precisely what she did when she left Nathan. Having a deadbeat dad and watching her mom work two jobs to make ends meet have been her driving force. When she is offered a modeling career, she drops everything - even the love of her life - and moves to New York. Though Nathan and Olivia try to steer clear of one another, working for the same fashion magazine causes their paths to cross again and old emotions are awakened. Can Nathan forgive Olivia or will he take the next step with the woman he is currently dating? Will Olivia do everything she can to break them apart? Or will she choose her career over her heart...again?

The Ending was the Saving Moment

I am not really sure how I feel about what I just listened too. Nathan and Oliva were not likeable characters, the narrator was female but she voiced Nathan in an enjoyable way to my ear, and the triangle/square of the story line was quite annoying. The ending is the only reason I want to get to the next book. I really hope that things change and they both figure things out.

This specific video review will be included in the August 2018 wrap-up.

I just can't with this book

First I liked to say I only made it through a hour and a half of this book. From the beginning I knew it would be a hard listen because the narrator sounded very robotic. I knew that the story would have to pull me in and it just did not. I have listened to another book by M Clarke and it was good. This story just came off as being cheesy. The writer didn't built enough interested in the characters to get me invested in the story. I think I have to know the characters before you have them be annoying and whiny. I've listened to over 800 audiobooks and this is probably the third one that I couldn't make it through. I just think the combination of the narration in the writing style made it a no go for me. I also think people should check it out for themselves. Happy listening.
