About this listen

It started with a kiss.

Admittedly, it was a moment of weakness on my part. But even the strong-willed have been known to fall for a hard body underneath a tailored suit and a five o’clock shadow coating a sharp jawline. It didn’t matter that Jackson St. James was nothing but trouble. Trouble was just my type. Been there. Done him. Not making that mistake again.

We were friends, a low-key affair we designed ourselves—over before we began. After all, together we made no sense.

Jackson is into sports. I prefer the arts. He gulps beer. I sip champagne. While I might not be described as humble, his arrogance is through the roof. But when he asks if we can talk, my traitorous Louboutins come to a full stop. Although I’ve seen enough movies to know how these conversations go, maybe, just maybe, he’ll surprise me.

He has before....

We may have started with a kiss, but how will we end?

It Started with a Kiss is a friends-with-benefits-to-lovers opposites-attract contemporary romance.

Friends to lovers

This book is such a sweet story of a friends to lovers trope. I really enjoyed seeing some of the characters that we have met in other books and how their lives are playing out.

This is such a heartwarming read.

I needed this story more then I would have ever guessed. Once I started reading this sweet friends with benefits to lovers story I could not put it down. Marlow and Jackson are made for each other and I loved the twists and turns the story took getting them to their HEA. I hope you'll pick this book up ASAP and give it a read. Also grab the audible if you're a fan of listening while you read/work.
Sebastian York and Summer Morton are the narrators of the audible version and they have done a five star job on this story giving it an extra special delivery of feelings and compassion and love.

Best in this series

Really liked this story except for the reason for the angsty separation. Didn't really make sense. The growth of the main characters & their relationship was decently developed. The narration was exceptional as expected with York & Morton, Worth the credit.

Seriously?!?!

I had high hopes for this book. But I am 3-hours in, and I have already stopped it twice and listened to three other books that were FAR more interesting. I am a huge romance fan, but I have yet to hear anything in this book that sounds remotely like a plot. It's mostly designer names and name-dropping, and even the beginning (which had great potential) didn't draw me in enough to keep it interesting. The sex is fun & descriptive, (and who doesn't love listening to Sebastian York?!), but there is not enough depth in the characters (especially the female) to feel the heat that could have been there.
I am stopping this one again, and doubtful I will return to it. There are FAR better listens than this one.

The plot development is painfully slow

The male narrator saved this book from being a wasted credit. The story is very slow moving, the female narrator sounds as shallow as her character but maybe that was intentional
