Publisher's summary

For fans of Holly Black, Sarah J. Maas, and Leigh Bardugo comes this epic fantasy tale of faery realms, the power of prophecy, and a love that knows no bounds.

An ancient prophecy

A vision of flame

A war to end two worlds....

After years of turmoil, Cora has brought peace to her kingdom at last. Yet, she can’t stop feeling like she’s failed the Elvan and Faeran. Their realm is dying. If she can’t be the woman the ancient prophecy needs, what can she possibly do?

You can’t save everyone.

But maybe someone else can....

A surprising revelation brings new hope and a new threat bigger than anything Cora and her friends have faced before. An ancient enemy awakes. No one is safe, neither human nor fae.

Cora, Teryn, Mareleau, and Larylis each have a part to play to protect the human world and save the Ancient Realm from destruction. But how do you face an enemy that can walk between worlds?

Shades of Prophecy is the final book in the Lela Trilogy, with more romance, more adventure, and more metaphysical magic. If you love unicorns, dragons, and fae, you’ll love this epic fantasy conclusion.

LOVE LOVE LOVE <3

This entire trilogy has been FANTASTIC. I am so upset that this is the last book. The ending was really good though. The only thing that would have been better would have been if there was another book after this. A lot of endings frustrate me for one reason or another. But I kind of felt good about this one. Also, I think I've said this in every review I've written for this series but I still stand by it. I LOVE her writing style. It's just so pretty. I think the narrator helps make it sound even more elegant, but not in a difficult way. It was awesome!

My hat is off to you Tessonja

This was a great tale of magic, deceipt, hope & love. Once I started it I did not want to stop. I am very proud of Mereleau. I always knew she had a greater purpose. The best bond was Cora & Valore. I am hoping he cured her. Loved this series! Definite thumbs up.

Great conclusion

If you liked the first two books of this series, then you definitely need to listen to Shades of Prophecy. It will make you cry, with a bittersweet ending that ties everything together. The book continues expanding on the characters we love from the first two books, with new realizations, conclusions, and understandings that I didn’t see coming. If you enjoy magic, prophecies, love and evil villains you’ll definitely enjoy. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

The Only Word I Have For This Series Is Incredible

I love how the Lela Trilogy took me on a journey of epic proportions. Odette wove together a story that had so many real and lovable characters and made magic travel to this world as well.

Shades of Prophecy wraps up this series in a way that leaves me completely satisfied. Was I still anxious while reading? Yes! And I'm so glad that it wasn't something predictable, rinse and repeat, hero saves the day and defeats evil.

Faye brings the many characters to life with her narrating and I did notice the heavy rounded sound on words like "possible" were considerably less noticeable in this installment. I appreciate Faye's performance and delivery so much and she truly made this tale lovely to listen to.

All in all, I am so happy I feel so happy to have finished a story that makes me feel bittersweetly happy instead of saying goodbye to my favorite characters forever.

Great storyline

I love the storyline and the characters but I do not like the narrator. The voice was very hard to listen to while trying to follow the story.

Conclusion to the series

I have listened to the complete Lela series on audible, and really enjoyed the first book. This book spent a lot of time with Mareleau, who was my least favorite character of the series, although she did grow into a better character through the story. The ending wrapped up all the loose ends, and gave a sense of "happily ever after."
The narrator is great, she uses different voices for each of the characters.
I found this book had more "adult" content than the previous books - it was nothing explicit, more like fade out scenes, where it was clearly implied what happened. It was at the edge of what I am willing to listen to, and would expect it to be rated PG13 for violence and implied intimate scenes if it were a movie.
