Excellent for teaching elementary students

Teaching young children about the horrors of WWII can be difficult. This true story of a Christian girl and her family is truthful and revealing while remaining gentle and uplifting as it describes the difficulties of the war.

Great book from the child’s eyes

How she found God and His constant faithfulness through the horrors of war were evident all through the book.

She kept the faith the whole duration of the war

Story is told very simple so teens could learn from it. The terrible things the nazis did were left out She suffered plenty but trusted in God in the darkest of times so that’s the main theme of book not the Nazi war machine. She experienced far more than told very kind unselfish girl who never sought revenge which is human nature. Highly recommend for teen and old audience

Almost asked for a refund

I liked the true story behind all of this, my main problem was with the narrator. She was awful!! I was very close to asking for a refund!! It's amazing to me how a narrator can ruin an entire book for you. She was happy when she should have been mortified, sad when she should have been confused, etc. It was really hard to get through. I really believe it's important to let actors or people with talent read the books. Sorry, I'm not trying to be mean but we pay good money for these and I think we deserve better.
