About this listen

On a Collision Course....

It was supposed be a simple extraction from the Brussels2Rome party train. With an eclectic crowd, a willing target, and a lot of nuyen at stake, what could go wrong? Everything - as Makeda Red discovers the hard way. There’s more than one target on the train, and more than one shadowrunner team in play. When someone sabotages the tracks in the middle of the Swiss Alps, she’s forced to extract her client much earlier than planned. To complicate matters, other survivors are also fleeing the crash for their own reasons. One of them is trying to escape his corporate masters as well, and offers to pay Makeda to escort him to his safe haven.

A paying client is a paying client, and his corp won’t be looking for three people traveling together. Makeda knows it’s a risk, but one she’s willing to take. In the shadows, however, nothing and no one is what they seem. Before it’s over, this already dangerous run may be Makeda’s last....

I have enjoyed all of the Shadowrun books i have read. This one is now my favorite. It's good to see the 6th world in "new" settings.

I highly recommend this book.

An excellent cyberpunk story

the action starts early and keeps coming. there are twists and turns that do shadowrun proud. I look forward to more shadowrun books being released.

great read

I use this app at work. I am always on the go. I really appreciated the lbgt w/e bit. I did kinda figure out where the story was going however. But had my doubts so it kept me on edge. I hope more shadowrun content is shared.

Awesome story

Could not get beyond the first 6 chapters. This book has less to do with Shadowrun and more to do with describing the bi-sexuality of the protagonist, and homosexuality of nearly everyone she's involved with. Less political correctness and more Shadowrun next time, please.

I love Shadowrun. It is a great world. This is an ably written novel in that world. It is tonally not what I was looking for, though. I think some people will love it, but it didn't land for me and it is not the writer's fault. The writing is solid. I tend to prefer the more noir tone in the genre and this didn't hit that tone.

The narration is excellent.

Maybe not for me but might be for someone else

(Spoiler Alert) First and foremost this books story is fantastic that being said it sacrifices a lot of story for the sake of what I can only call light weight literotica. I was actually dreading whenever a certain character would show up because I know it would immediately veer from story to fantasies of making out and such. Which normally I do not mind but again it interrupted the story as opposed to adding to it.

Second is that you need to have us care about someone if you want us to feel anything when they die. Main character is sad over the death of “insert person you haven’t heard about” How can you relate to that.

Last complaint on the story itself is that it did not feel like a Shadowrun story. It felt like a normal story but with some Shadowrun lingo thrown in now and then. You could remove all aspect of Shadowrun and it would not change the story.

Now for the narration. Overall good quality, good accents, easy to understand. My complaint for the narrator though is that when she does a male or someone with an accent it looses all flow. It sounds like they are either out of breath or in a constant state of reluctance and confusion. I understand what she is trying to do. At least I think she is. But It does not work for me. You have a supposed expert, confident, wealthy shadowrun specialist and he talks like “I.....uh.....like....ze.....uh...... popcorn”

Not bad but not Shadowrun.

Story is mediocre at best. Character development lost priority to contrived attempts at being a romance novel. I'm sure most women in life threatening situations, being named a wanted terrorist, and having seen multiple friends die within hours will immediately want to copulate. Not worth credit/money.

Not enough eyeroll
