About this listen

Justice Kasric's world is turned upside down when her father forcibly bundles the entire family into carriages in the middle of the night and carts them off to a strange mansion on the outskirts of London. The Faerie are invading - and the Kasric siblings don't even have a chance to stay neutral, because different members of their family are working for opposite sides.

But Justice isn't your average fifteen-year-old girl growing up in Victorian London. She's an irrepressible scoundrel, and she always has a plan. These qualities have ostracized her from the rest of the family before now, but even her older siblings look to her to help them escape. Justice certainly isn't going to stay locked up once she discovers the world of Faerie, especially once she and her siblings discover magical talents they never knew they had.

Lovely, intelligent, fun, interesting, a great getaway for the mind !!!

I loved it! The narrator is so good she allows the words to create the pictures in your mind: very adroit. Outstanding! Looking forward to numbers 2, 3, 4 & 5... how long must I wait?

An enchanting adventure!

Shadows Over London starts out with a magical meeting and the adventure rolls on from there. With a well written story, and characters the reader comes to truly care about, I highly recommend this book. While it says it's for teens, I'm 46 and I loved it. The woman reading it fits the story perfectly!

Injecting New Life in Faerie Stories

From beginning to end, this paints a picture of the Faerie as they should be: beautiful, seductive and dangerous. Klaver does this without going down roads tread by countless authors before him. The characters - particularly the siblings of the Kasric family - come to life as real people seen through the protagonist's eyes.

Hardingham absolutely nails the voice of a Victorian teenage girl, and has excellent intonation and tones for each character. Despite her voice being very distinctive, you never lose focus on which character is speaking.

Highly recommend!
