About this listen

Joanne Walker has two choices: Defeat the enemy - or lose her soul trying. For over a year, Joanne has been fighting the Master - the world's most abiding evil entity. She's sacrificed family, friendships, even watched potential futures fade away... and now the Master is bringing the final battle to Joanne's beloved Seattle. Lives will be lost as the repercussions of all Joanne's final transformation into her full Shamanic abilities come to her doorstep. Before the end, she'll mourn, rejoice - and surrender everything for the hope of the world's survival. She'll be a warrior and a healer. Because she is finally a Shaman Rising.

Characters and their growth

Unlike most the serials came to a logical conclusion, but still had room to continue if author wishes. I would like to read more about Ms Walkers adventures.

Truly Outstanding!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I'd recommend Shaman Rises, and the rest of the Walker Papers, to anyone who loves urban fiction. Shaman Rises is a non-stop thrill ride from the word "go", in which all questions are answered and all paths come full circle.

get ready for crying

This is the final in the series and many plot threads come together in a continuous avalanche of action.

This would make a great anime series with all the descriptions of spiritual battles as vivid as an acid trip.

Excellent narration!

The story is the very excellent culmination of the 9 earlier books. And the narration is superb! The narrator captures each character’s personality with a different voice and then remains completely consistent with those voices. She reads kind of fast, so you have to pay attention or you miss things. But that really moves the story along and gives the plot a sense of urgency. Very very well done.

good end

This book wrapped up the story lines of the whole series in a positive manner. It was a good end to the series for me.

A truly beautiful series.

I very much enjoyed the epic battle between good and evil. It was filled with Gods, Demons, Ameican Indian mythology, Irish mythology and lots of wonderful geries.I loved Jo, Gary, Billy, Mel, Cayote, and Morrison. I laughed, cried, cheered, and in the end love won out. Who could ask for more. Well, okay, if there were more, I would of course read it.

I will miss Jo!

I feel as though I’m losing a friend. What a beautiful, wonderful ending! If I ever visit Seattle, I’ll be catching glimpses of Jo and Morrison, Gary and Annie, Billie and Melinda.

Sound off

The character sounds were off. One was fine and the other was so low was unable to hear. Had to keep turning volume up and down for the entire book.

I want more! I love this series

Even this is supposed to be the end... I want to here what her life is like after this. Life is a journey so what is next even if it isn't so dramatic I'm sure it would be interesting
