About this listen

Amidst torrid gossip and whispered suspicions, Reid Sayers has returned to his small hometown in rural Louisiana - and to the stormy passions of Camilla Greenley. Pulsating with the intense desires of a willful man and woman, Jennifer Blake's lush novel is a breathlessly compelling tale of suspense and unbridled sensuality that is absolutely!

Camilla's cunning, soon-to-be ex-husband has discovered that she may be the sole heir to the local mill - worth millions if its operating owner, Reid Sayers, sells out to an eager conglomerate. But there is danger in the air. Someone is threatening Camilla; Reid steps into the line of fire. And though Camilla doesn't trust him, her body can't fight the fierce attraction between them. By day, their battle is nothing short of open war - Camilla vows to stop the sale that could play havoc with the environment and rallies the town behind her. But at night, their love is a passionate combat, a fury of competitive ecstasy. It is an entanglement from which there is no surrender, and no defeat!

Great book

Loved every moment of this book. A love story that makes one drool.

A clever, level headed, sexy young lady falls head over heels in love with a strong and sexy guy and of course it's the story of Romeo and Juliet all over again ... Except that this time it has a very happy ending.

The narration was excellent too. You know it's good when you know who's doing the talking without being told.

All in all, a good marriage of excellent writing and narration. I'm sure it will thrill and entertain you too!

Awesome

Through twists and turns, Reid and Cami put on a great show! Couldn't guess the ending really and this book kept my interest. Great narration too! Kathleen is one of my favorite narrators! Recommended highly.

And it goes on and on and on....

Would you try another book from Jennifer Blake and/or Kathleen McInerney?

I've read Jennifer Blake before, so, yes I will try another. Kathleen McInerney was a great narrator

Would you recommend Shameless to your friends? Why or why not?

I probably would not recommend this book, the story line was good, but there was so much detail and descriptions I would lose the storyline.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene was Cami in the safe room, her thoughts and emotions were so real.

Any additional comments?

A great love story that got lost in too much detail.

A good story..

and better plot. I liked the mystery mixed with angst and romanve. I also lime the rich history behind them. I enjoyed it all.

Average

This is an average book. It is a bit too drawn out with fill in trivia. The narrator was ok.

Struggling to Finish

I've read Jennifer Blake before and saw this book in the sale items so thought I would give it a listen. I don't know if I can finish. It is really boring. The writing is very descriptive about boring things like the food at an event and the scenery. (This is not what I particularly like)There is a connection between Reid and Camilla and a long family history but it was just boring. There was a hook up at the beginning of the book and now almost 4 hours in I am still waiting for something exciting to happen. I am struggling to finish as I keep waiting and thinking ok it will get better. I feel like there are a lot of random characters in the book and that the plot does not move along with any sense of purpose. I know this is supposed to be a romantic book but it still needs some kind of plot. I will try to finish but I would not hold my breath on that. You know it is not good when your mind wanders and you lose 10 min of listening but don't bother to rewind. I am just thankful it was cheap.

Seriously??

This book was NOT what I would consider good. If the author wanted to write soft porn, she did a good job of it. I wish she'd have put as much effort into the plot & the scenes where they weren't having sex as she did in those where they were. I've never heard quite so much "description" and so many words used in 99% of the books I've read/listened to, and trust me, I've read A LOT! Unless you're looking for mindless nothing to fill up your time, I'd suggest you skip this one. I wish I had….. what a waste of time & money!

For me, just no. :(

DNF @ 25%

The h in this story defines TSTL and her picture should be shown in Urban Dictionary. The opening scene with the 357 was just the beginning.

The reason that I stopped reading was the preachy environmental aspect of the story. The bad company wants to come in and tear everything down. The h would go on rants about it but she hadn't seen the plans or business plan so it is all conjecture.

On the plus side, the author built suspense well. Unfortunately the h was so over the top that I just couldn't care about the story.

I will look at Jennifer's other stories as I refuse to let one book define how I view an author.
