About this listen
Shark. Tarantula. Sharkantula. When a genetically modified tarantula finds itself loose in the Great White Shark exhibit at Shark World, the feisty arachnid sinks its fangs into the main attraction. Without warning, the Great White mutates into Sharkantula and the opening day show turns deadly. The mutated shark/tarantula hybrid is hungry and ready to feast upon the flesh of those that don't run away fast enough to escape her webbing. Desperate to stop the carnage, a group of Shark World employees join forces with the tarantula's keeper in an effort to stop the devastation, before Sharkantula can escape the confines of the aquatic theme park and spread her terror across the United States.

Fun Listen
The narration on this book was quite good. I did have to increase the little bit but that is my normal. the story is fun in campy as you can expect from the name itself. I give this book a 3.5 star which I rounded up to 4. go into this book the same way you would go into watching a movie such as Sharknado. have fun with it just enjoy

5 Stars!
Sharkantula by Essel Pratt is an adventure about well.. A shark tarantula! Thats right! Could you imaging a spider shark coming at you?
• 5 Stars: honestly, I loved every minute of this book. I thought it and the characters were well written and was true to a B movie. The characters had enough of a back story, it was easy for me to feel for the characters.
Trigger warnings:
Spiders
Child death

A fun B-movie creature feature
Y'all know those cheesy Sci fi channel movies that are pretty terrible, but you still find yourself sitting there in a trance watching it anyway?? This is the book equivalent... move over, sharknado. Sharkantula is here. Riddiculous premise, but I can't help but love it.

Sharkantula hybrid
Sharkantula By: Essel Pratt, Narrated by Jason Fella
This is a Sci-fi book about sharkatula, experiments and fantasy. This book is different from what I usually listen. It had a good story and the plot. Quite interesting to listen. It combines two scariest things spiders and sharks. Not for faint hearted or people afraid of spiders :) Writer is talented, and created an interesting story. The narrator did a respectable job, nice tempo and voice changes. The book is 3 hrs and 28 mins so you will enjoy it for some time. I would recommend this book to sci-fi fans.
My hope is that this review helps in your decision to obtain this book.

this book is as fun as the title! a spider bites a shark, and bam you get a sharknatula. it very much does give off an 80s horror flick vibes. also, even a couple names are hilarious. such as D and Snyder which are always in each scene together! I caught that!

B-Movie Madness!!! A beautiful kinda Crazy
When I first saw this book all I could think of was, "No freaking Way." I am a junkie of b-movies, and this looked to be like a crazy clown car ride full of bubblegum fun. I couldn't have been more right.
Let's be frank adults here. Sharkantula is not trying to pose a a brilliant piece of literature. This is a story made for the sheer fun of it, and man does it work. This is a work of art, plain and simple, and it hits everysingle cylinder it needs to in this genre. Pratt keeps his story on an even keel, bad writing would have just tanked this amazing idea, and he really gets you to root for the monster. You will take great glee when the Sharkantula kills off someone. Yeah, this isn't a case of it is so bad that it is good writing. It is so good because it is soooooo good.
Fella narrates well, and sets up the scene artfully. He plays this like a pro, funny when he needs to be, melodramitic, dramatic, funny (again), and so on. He made this even more fun, if that is possible. I have to say he can play a terrified crowd f people like no one I've ever seen.
This book is a B-movie blast that starts off like a rocket and ends with a mushroom cloud explosion of pure fun.

Sharknado - Step Aside...
Would you consider the audio edition of Sharkantula to be better than the print version?
Yes, I thought the audio version really brought it to life.
What other book might you compare Sharkantula to and why?
I'd compare it to the Sharknado movies actually, which this is clearly modeled on. I think it's better than the Sharknado movies by far. But it maintains a campy fun that I loved
What does Jason Fella bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He's great. His voice is serious, which is important since this is campy, but not a comedy.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Sharknado - Step Aside...
Any additional comments?
Just thought this was an awesome book. I'm hoping the author puts out a few more audiobooks.

Such an entertaining creature feature!
Hahahaha! This was such a fun creature feature! This was just sheer silly enjoyment. First, we start off in Dr. Fisher’s lab which is full of genetically modified spiders. Alas, there’s plenty of people that want to shut down his work. He barely escapes but there’s an unknown stow away in his clothes – Lucille the purple tarantula.
Next, we get to know Patton who works at Shark World, an aquatic amusement park. She doesn’t want to have anything to do with her dad right now. She’s become attached to her work with the Great White Denai and her co-workers.
Right from the start, we know there this is going but I still enjoyed the ride. Once Sharkantula arises, the blood starts flowing. There’s body parts everywhere and the audience is not amused! I know it’s juvenile, but yes, I did laugh at the Great White joke.
Patton and her coworkers (Harvey, Si, and Stephanie) band together to try to evade and later on defeat Sharkantula. Cassieanne, Dr. Fisher’s assistant, shows up later. With her spider knowledge and Patton’s understanding of shark behavior, they just might have a chance! As the body count rose, I began to wonder if anyone would make it out alive. I will admit, I did root for Sharkantula when she was taking out annoying audience members.
All together, this was so much fun! It’s not any great piece of literature and doesn’t have much depth. It’s like a B-movie. You love it because it’s ridiculous and you can laugh at it a bit. Plus, there’s Sharkantula. Who doesn’t love that combination of shark and tarantula? 5/5 stars just because it entertained me greatly.
I received a free copy of this book.
The Narration: Jason Fella did a really good job with this narration. Each character was distinct and his female voices were believable. I loved all the panicked, desperate shouts and pleas in this story. Fella really put himself into this performance. 5/5 stars.
