About this listen

Since my father's death, I've been dealt one hard knock after the other.

My life is a living nightmare at the hands of my stepmother and her daughter. Each day is filled with abuse, both verbal and physical.

Why? All because I was born an omega and not them. They make sure with each day that passes, I know just how little they think of me.

There's one shining light in my life… my best friend Sasha.

She risks it all, deriving a plan for me to take my stepsister's place on a date. For once, I do something for myself and head to dinner with an unknown pack.

Kismet bonds are once in a lifetime, and while I should be happy to have one, I know I'm not worth the risk. It's what I've been told for so many years.

So I bolt from dinner and make a plan to get out of my childhood home once and for all. Only fate has a different plan, and it seems my bonds have tracked me down.

They're not the only ones, though. What we have may be kismet, but my stepmother won't stand for me to be happy. Now in true nightmare fashion, I'm sold off to a pack who wishes to bestow upon me the one thing I can't handle: an arcane bond.

Will my happily ever after come, or am I doomed to live a life out of my worst nightmare?

interesting story idea, still developing writer

This was a pass for me but it was a good idea. It just did not seem ready to go up against some of the other more developed writers. I wanted to like it though.

so good

I loved this when it was on Kindle vella. But mthe more that Cassie and Bre added made me devour and love the story even more! They definitely are the best dynamic duo. I wish I could say this was a 5 star read but really it's way more!!! Definitely go read it.

Too much drama, not enough character building

Ok, I really did have high hopes for this book. Plus size Omega, living a crappy life, meeting hot Alphas and finding love. It had good bones. Where it fell short? The constant chaos and drama that really took away from the FMC's chance to develop a connection with the Alphas that a reader could believe. She spent more than half the book kidnapped by one villain or another, never learns anything from these experiences and the only thing she really develops is a joy for her abusers being tortured. Also, why did we need to hear anyone else's POV besides the FMCs and MMCs? Again, it made it so you lost prime chapter space for building their connection and threw it away for lesser characters. The story rushed through the love story, had a some heat on the love scenes, and focused more on kill, maime, destroy aspects. Honestly, the sexy scenes might have been more sexy if the author had worked on building the characters to enhance the reader's emotional connection to them. If this is how the rest of the series will be, I think it'll be a hard pass for me.
