Publisher's summary

Following the success of the earlier volume, The Baker Street Case-Files, we have another collection of previously unknown Holmes and Watson tales that will excite the interests of listeners across the globe - The Baker Street Legacy.

A decade before his death, Dr. Watson let it be known that with his passing he wished his nephew, Christopher Henry Watson MD, to be the executor of his will and guardian of all his personal and pecuniary affairs. One of the tasks he sanctioned was that his nephew should use his discretion in selecting for publication some of the three dozen or so cases involving Holmes and Watson which had not already seen the light of day.

The eight stories in this volume are more overlooked gems. The first in the collection, A Day at the Races, is set in 1880, before Dr. Watson had become the chief chronicler of the Great Detective’s work. The French Affair is a fascinating tale set in that period beyond 1891 when the world was led to believe that Holmes had died at the Reichenbach Falls grappling with the villainous Professor Moriarty. From the allure of The Fashionably Dressed Girl to the operation of The Influence Machine, there is, as always, much to entertain and enthrall us.

As before, all of these tales are designed to contribute in some small part to the lasting memory of two extraordinary men who once occupied that setting we have come to know and love as 221B Baker Street. Once again, "The game is afoot!"

Enjoyed Listening

This is actually a series of smaller case files rather than one full and complete storyline. I was a bit confused and not really enjoying it much until I grasped what was occurring. Mainly because it seemed rather rushed. Once I grasped the nature of this work, I understood that by necessity all facts for each case file had to be conveyed quickly in order to get several into this book. I enjoyed it at that point.

warning repeated stories

I had just finished "before baker street" which had a repeated Jay ganguili (sp) story from another book to find that the chapter 14 story in that book is the first story in this book. I don't know if it is something to be amused about or upset about. I guess buyer beware. but I may be writing the editor and publisher if I discover more.

Delightful stories, really enjoyed.

Stories were fun and enjoyable. Narration, I wasn't sure of; but then, different characters, of different social classes, sold me on a great story telling... loved it.
