The Game is Afoot

Ian Shimwell returns with more adventures in this script series. This one definitely peaked my interest as I’m curious about the clue left at the end, can’t wait to pick up the next book to see what the conclusion will be.

1st in a set of four great Holmes stories

This is the first of four great Holmes stories about the Corvus conspiracy. They are also available in a completed volume. I grew up with a love for the old basil rathbone and Nigel Bruce black and white Holmes movies. This story is written and performed in that same spirit. Truly a wonderful addition to any Holmes fans collections. Highly recommended. The narrators deliver that old time movie/radio show feel. Decent Attempt at Sherlock Holmes

As a licensed and certified Holmesian, I had some issues with this. I enjoyed that it was a short story like so many of my favorite Sherlock Holmes tales and I felt that atmosphere was properly created. Wasn't a huge fan of the writing as I felt that it missed the mark a bit. I know how Sherlock Holmes talks and while there was a certain feel of him, it just didn't resonate with me the same way Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's writing did. Nonetheless, anything Holmes related I will give a shot and if you are certified like me, give the series a try.

Kevin Theis did a good job with bringing up the dialect and narration I felt was necessary. Reminded me a bit of the old radio shows but seemed to be a bit more embellished than I wanted. Solid effort and still a great job. Just really hard to compete with Basil Rathbone or Nigel Bruce.

Sherlock Goes to The Circus

Sherlock Holmes and the Spring-Heeled Tiger by Ian Shimwell is yet another fun and witty Sherlock Holmes adventure. The overall story is full of mystery and intrigue. As well as several funny moments like Watson trying to talk to the circus clowns. Kevin Theis does yet another great job at brining Sherlock Holmes and Watson to life. All in all I would recommend Sherlock Holmes and the Spring-Heeled Tiger to anyone who is a fan of Sherlock Holmes or likes a good mystery.

Watson Received His Reward!

Having listened to Sherlock Holmes and Lestrade, I purchased this story. While Holmes remained true to character,

Watson was an insufferable twit. His snide remarks were a distraction and did not help the story along. The best thing that happened to him was his encounter with the CLOWNS. I think everyone should listen to this story just to learn what they did to Watson. It was perfect!!!

Nice story

Loved the quick and mysterious story of Sherlock and Watson. The added atmospheric sounds added to the story. Reminded me of an old radio show.

A classic Sherlock Holmes type mystery

With the redoubtable Dr Watson, Holmes looks at a murder of gentleman of some note. All clues seem to point to the tiger from the circus, but Holmes doesn't believe that to be so.
A rather light hearted theatrical performance for Holmes and Watson.

Just Okay

I have always been a fan of the Sherlock Holmes stories. This play was okay, but I prefer the Arthur Conan Doyle books. I have to say though that Kevin Theis did a nice job of narrating. I received this free promo copy audiobook and this is my voluntary review.
