Loved this series!

I came late to the Sookie Stackhouse series. I absolutely loved it. Wish it had gone on and on, but I'm now discovering other Charlaine Harris books. She's become a favorite author.

Absolutely essential to Sookie's story

the first time I read the Sookie Stackhouse series was in the books as they were released, with time lapsing between each new installment in the series. This time I listened to each one sequentially and would dip into this companion at appropriate times between books. it filled in so many gaps and developed characters beyond my memories of this saga. I'm so happy I had it.

very nice

I've read the complete series many times, and never heard these before. it was nice fillers between the books that I love. I wish we could read the rest of Sookie's life. I would love to be with her though her wedding and pregnancies. oh well. 😭

I just love that these

I just love that Charlaine Harris wrote the short stories to fill in the gaps in between books.

Oof.. Southern Accent Slaughter

In the South, the art of dialect is still an art. This was murder of it! We speak with a draw yet intent on a focused emphasis on the pieces we want focus on. This was like listening to a beginning reader, not an adult Southern woman. The stories are adorable. The narration kills it. Seriously. A Southern accent is easily spotted as fugazi.
