I’m always skeptical of Sherlock Holmes pastiches, as it’s difficult to capture the spirit of the originals. This book, which is three interconnected short stories, does quite a good job capturing the tone and characters of Conan Doyle’s originals. The stories themselves are clever and are “fair play” mysteries. The narrator is good. I definitely recommend it for a Christmastime listen.

Whoa! I was not ready for how expertly these three stories were weaved. Lovegrove is a great writer and composes a great Sherlock Holmes story. I can't wait to read the next one. 😍😍

I definitely didn't always see who done it. But I love how the resolution incorporated little details along the way. If you listen carefully, you can catch some as the story progresses.

Another rip roaring Sherlockian tale from James Lovegrove. I loved the narration. It fits the tale and it is first rate.

the stories are good. one might quibble with the last tale, but it is well done. the narrator is clear and understandable, but the delivery lacks emotion. its a bit like having someone read the statements of a witness. but if one can get past that, it's worth getting this audiobook.
