About this listen

On a frigid winter night in early 1963, Rocco Anthony Balliro and a pair of associates stormed a darkened apartment on the outskirts of Boston and were immediately embroiled in a deadly shootout with several unseen assailants. Unbeknownst to Rocco at the time, the men who returned his fire were several Boston police officers, waiting in ambush for him. It was, as Rocco later described it, a hastily planned rescue mission that went downhill in a hurry. In the aftermath, his beloved girlfriend and her toddler son lay dead.

interesting and intriguing

I enjoyed the life and times of Tony. He was a personable likeable character despite his flaws.
I was sad for his losses, because he truly seemed to love and care about them. The last two chapters had me weeping. and full on snotting. This was a really good story a d I enjoyed following his life path to the end. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job bringing it to life.

a heartbreaking story of luv sacrifice & betrayal

this book was a nailbiting page turning read that pulled this reader in immediately! details about the red light district and certain characters are on point! Being a family member..the daughter in law to Bruno Baliro Sr. and wife of Bruno Baliro Jr. I quicly learned what having the baliro name meant...i will leave that at that! but when you read this read you be watching a movie in your head that's how well it flows definitely definitely definitely this reader recommends this book as a definite collection 2 your next Library

Sad story, but so many errors

Rocco Balliro was a horrible human being, and the story has so many inaccuracies that this should be labeled as a book of fiction.

I don't understand where the author received the information from, but not to include truthful information is a disgrace.

He murdered a woman and a child, which is what he will always be remembered for.

Rocco life was one of thievery and lies. He remained that way until his death.
