A Thrilling Narrative

I just finished listening to Secrets of the Rabbi's Mafia - A Jake Cooper Novel by Irv Segal and I'm completely enthralled. In this suspenseful thriller, the author does an amazing job of taking us through the twisted alleys of corruption within the most unlikely of realms - a sacred community. Jake Cooper is a brilliantly flawed character whose desperation leads us through a chilling narrative filled with suspense that almost feels too real. There were so many great twists in the story that I just didn't see coming at all and it kept me on the edge of my seat to keep listening to more! The portrayal of 1995 Chicago sets a dark, gritty backdrop to a tale that kept me hooked from start to finish - the narration further brought the haunting realism of the corrupt Ultra-Orthodox Jewish Rabbi and his criminal underbelly to life. I appreciated the author's personal experiences which lend an authentic touch, making the story all the more compelling. I want to give a big shout-out to the author for crafting such an incredible story. The intricate web of secrets, crimes, and danger kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. I highly recommend this audiobook for its unique perspective.

Jake Cooper

I’ve found a new amateur sleuth book, yay! I really enjoyed this audiobook. I do not know anything about the ultra orthodox Jewish lifestyle, so I can’t speak the accuracy of what is portrayed in the novel but it was fascinating. I look forward to more Jake Cooper novels in the future!
