Publisher's summary

Years ago, an evil wind did blow through my hometown of London, Ontario, culminating in a series of grisly murders...the suspect remains unknown....

Sick is a brutally honest account of childhood abuse and how I uncovered several connections between my father and the tissue killings. Some of the names have been changed to protect the innocent.... All of the accounts are true and can be corroborated through historical medical records and or independent witness accounts.

A survivors account

Sick is a story about one woman’s experience of incest and unspeakable acts of abuse, inflicted by her parents and her brother. I commend this courageous woman , who in my opinion is so brave and the story needed to be told.

Southern US accents?

Very interesting, some things just don't add up but overall believable. Only real issue is the narrator's use of a southern accent for the grandmother and occasional southern accent for the mother. It makes absolutely no sense as they are Canadian.

Amazing story

I've been waiting for this to come to audible. It's dark, humorous, disturbing, and triumphant. A lesson for everyone on asking questions, talking to children, not looking the other way...

A must read

Every person who has been abused either mentally or physically, and has suffered sexual abuse should read this book. the narrator is my number 1 favorite now. you will cry for the lost who ha e never received justice to this day. you will cry for the disgusting dysfunction that happened to this beautiful girl, and many others by the hands of these sick family members.
in my opinion it's a myst read, and should be read by every cop, lawyer. social worker, child protection worker, hospital intake worker to show how the criminal justice, CPS, and other entities who are supposed to protect our children is broken miserably.

I wish I knew the ending

The story, as unbelievable as it may seem is true. But I have to speak up here about editing, after all this is a published book and I assume there were editors in most if not all of the audiobooks and even with announcers on television they keep saying EcKCETERA, when the word is ETCETERA, it is infuriating because these people have degrees in journalism creative writing you name it. But this book went beyond the beyond's with some words, for instance, neither the writer nor the editor nor the performer seem to know the difference between epithet and epitaph. On three different occasions the word epitaph was used in place of the word epithet AND one word which I cannot remember at the time that I am writing this review was totally laughable the words started with an H but I cannot remember what it was at this time. As a matter of fact one time the performer pronounced etc. asEGG-CETERA. I thought it was about time I spoke up after all I DO purchase a whole lot of audiobooks. What do editors get paid for anyway if they cannot edit properly?

very very repetitive

It sometimes felt more like ATV show or infomercial then a story and no real resolve what was given nothing was said as to where the father is now where the mother is now. Not a badd book by any means but definitely could use some Polish.

Well written and inspiring

Cindy has great humor in a tragic story. Her life has not been easy but she is an excellent storyteller. Cindy if you read this review I would love to meet you. I live outside of Detroit but I’m from Niagara Falls and travel back there monthly. Rachelegallagher@aol.com

“SICK” IS THE MOST AMAZING AUDIO BOOK I HAVE HEARD

The title says it all. If you enjoy any form of true crime run don’t walk to download SICK! It is by far one of the best listens I have ever experienced. Even if parts were exaggerated to gain the audience’s appeal, it doesn’t matter. The author is so talented I could not believe her graphic pros describing her terrible life growing up with a mother that makes MOMMIE DEAREST seem like a beautiful and heartwarming fairy tale.

I simply could not stop listening to SICK! Many of us have experienced child abuse, but in my opinion Cindy Lee Loucks went through hell unsurpassed by any other person or story I have heard about or listened to! Her father was an equal opportunity monster as well.

This book is not for the weak at heart! I guarantee, you will be amazed, heartbroken, and it will even send chills through your entire soul, as told by the daughter of two evil parents, that in my mind seemed as horrible as the BTK Killer.

I do believe some of the text was extremely shocking with maybe even a little fiction thrown in. Again, this in NO WAY makes “SICK” less of an outstanding book. I loved this true story, and will keep it in my library for a second, third, and even a fourth listen.

I wish Cindy Lee, its author, the best as she continues her journey to complete recovery. To me Cindy is by far the strongest strongest person I have ever heard or even read about. Thank you for a GREAT listen. “SICK” is FANTASTIC. Thank you for reading my review. Steve
