Publisher's summary

Rule Number 1: Do Not Sleep with Clients

I was the best agent in the industry. More ruthless and cutthroat than any arrogant bastard you'd ever met.

The top actors in Hollywood came to me to get signed.

When I saw James Ryne, America's Sweetheart, standing across the bar, I wanted her body like I'd never wanted anything before.

I broke rule number one.

But, after all, I was a man. No one had ever mistaken me for a saint.

Rule Number 1: Do Not Fall in Love Again

I didn't know his name. I didn't who he was. All I knew was that he was deliciously handsome and he had to be someone to get into the most elite bar in LA.

He was too old for me, too experienced — the kind of man everyone warned me about. It was only supposed to be a one-night stand. I could have walked away. I should have walked away.

And then I was forced to walk away when my scandal hit the tabloids.

I broke rule number one and now I had to make the biggest decision of my life.

Risk my heart or get signed.

Complications

This was a complicated situation that through a bitter sweet connection, the heroin came out better than before but not without almost hitting rock bottom. Rather interesting story that was well conveyed by the narrators.

3.5

I liked the story and the spice was great but the male narration was NOT GOOD… the voice made the character significantly older than he was and that was on top of a huge age gap with fmc.

Good story, pretty good female narrator, TERRIBLE male narrator

The story was good. It was interesting and not like anything I’ve heard before. Warning: If the C word bothers you, be prepared.
Marni Mann is a good author. I will continue to seek out books by this author.
The female narrator was pretty good. Not great...but ok.
The male narrator was TERRIBLE. He sounded like Les Nessman (WKRP in CINCINNATI...google it) doing a 1930’s drama.
Please, please, please...casting directors, please cast appropriately aged, believable narrators for these books. The authors work too hard on them to have them ruined by a horrendous narration. And believe me, this narration was utterly horrendous. :(

Great Book, Bad Audio

I love this book, I actually got the audio for a re-read but I could not get past the first few chapters of audio because the males voice did NOT match the character. Huge Marni Mann fan and love all her series, just wished this audio was as great as the series!

James Character

I didn’t like how weak James character is about Sofia. I can’t stand a woman having that much power over another. This is story true enough but it was pathetic to behave so sheepishly when in the enemy’s presence. Yuk

Split review

I actually listened to a later book in this series first and it made me want to hear James and Brett’s story. Everything started out great but I have to say that the male narrator just didn’t fit the character for me. The woman reading James was good, I will look for more of her books, but I actually skipped some of the other scenes. Sorry!

Torn

The book was good but the male narrator was terribly disappointing and made it hard to listen to.

Entertaining

Audio Review:
Marni Mann is one of my favourite authors and I was surprised that I had missed the The Agency Series so I decided to pick up the audio and play catch up. This is America’s sweetheart James Ryne and arrogant agent Brett’s entertaining journey.
The narration team of Abby Craden and C.A. Sorensen did a wonderful job bring the characters and their story to life. They were spot on with the arrogance and the love and their voices were easy to listen to.
Brett wasn’t meant to fall for James the hottest actress in Hollywood, he represents actresses he doesn’t fall in love with them it this woman has him wanting to break the rules problem is James has her own rule which is never fall in love again……
Now she has to make the biggest decision of her life, risk her heart or get signed. So can this couple have the best of both worlds, one click to find out.
I loved everything about this book and now I need to read or listen to the rest of this series.

In love with Brett and James 🥰

The Agency is a firm of agents representing actors, athletes, and musicians. Each of the main partners have a book. This is the first book.

Brett Young (age 30) is agent for celebrities.
James Ryne (age 18) is a famous actress trying to get her love life back together after a break-up. An adult tape is released without her consent throwing her career down the drain.

The story just drew me in where I wanted to keep reading one more chapter. Brett is so confident and dynamic it’s no wonder James falls hard.
There are nice steamy scenes but I didn’t like James adult tape showing she was so submissive to the other guy. Plus I wish she had a first time intimate experience with Brett even if she wasn’t a virgin.

Abby Craden and C. A. Sorensen are good narrators except Abby’s voice for Eve was annoying. She sounded like a heavy chain smoker when she did her impression.

3 Stars

I think that I was more entertained by the Hollywood storyline, than I was by the romance happening between these two. I never bought into them as a couple. But the other plot, it was so well written than my insides were clenching in sympathy at times, and I needed to know what was going on there. I loved the best friends, and hope they have a book.

I listened to the audiobook for this one, and while I liked both voices, I didn't feel like his was a good match for the character. And at times, it was awkward to listen to
