About this listen

Someone is taking New York's children. The police assume they know who the predator is, but an overzealous detective and a lieutenant in over his head allow a serial killer to walk free. When the FBI sends profiler Scarlett Bell to catch the murderer, the deputy director demands she investigates the case alone. No partner to help solve the mystery. No one to watch her back.

Except she has a secret weapon: fugitive killer Logan Wolf. Sensing the deputy director is setting Bell up, Agent Neil Gardy secretly follows his old partner, intent on keeping her safe from Logan Wolf. To catch a child murderer, Bell must go rogue and avoid police detection. But can she stop Gardy and Wolf from killing each other?

Excellent Addition to this Series…

…As a long time fan of Dan Padavona I always wonder if each new book will be able to measure up. I’m happy to report that with this new Logan and Scarlet book he has surpassed all my expectations!
This is book six in this series. Logan and Scarlet actually began working together in the Scarlet Bell series. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND listening to both series in order and back to back but I know that may be asking a lot. Know that each book can be listened to as a standalone and the author gives enough background information so that if you’re new to the series you won’t be lost.

In this book Scarlet’s shady boss at the FBI sends her to work on a case she wasn’t invited by the local police to assist with. She’s followed by her former partner who believes that Logan Wolf wants to harm her. Between Wolf, her former partner and a child killer it becomes a twisted game of cat and mouse with Scarlet trying to keep everyone she cares about safe while catching a killer.
Connie Shabshab has gotten much better at narrating. I’m impressed!!
This book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.
