Uncover the secret of Silo 42 before it's too late.

In a world ravaged by war and destruction, 50 Silos have been built to protect the last remaining humans. But each Silo is isolated and unaware of the existence of the others, living under the illusion that they are the only survivors on Earth. As they wait for the outside conditions to improve, Silo 42 has thrived under new energy resources and a society that values creativity and freedom.

But Silo 42's prosperity may be short-lived. Silo 1 Head, Donald Keene, is growing increasingly concerned about the data he's receiving from Silo 42. Something doesn't add up. As he digs deeper, he discovers that their success goes against the original plan set out by the builders of the Silos. The Pact demands absolute conformity, and Silo 42 is in danger of facing extinction if they don't comply.

Amidst this looming threat, Silo 42 Head, Ahotay Lathrop, must navigate the delicate balance between protecting his people and outsmarting Silo 1 and its controlling rules. With the fate of their Silo and its 10,000 inhabitants in his hands, Ahotay must make a decision that could change everything.

Can Silo 42 survive the deception and manipulation of Silo 1? Or will they be erased from existence?

"Silo 42 Deception is a gripping page-turner combining a riveting mystery, a budding romance, and a Protopian future where decisions are made with the seventh generation in mind. This sci-fi thriller shows the positive nature of the human spirit to thrive even under the most oppressive of circumstances — solutions we can apply right now to create a more sustainable future on Earth." - Kay Everett

The tempo and scene-setting carry the reader along from level to level, sitting in on suspenseful conversations as a fly on the wall, and the story moves swiftly to bring everything to a head perfectly. I recommend Silo 42: Deception for the reader who wants to dive into a book and be pulled along on a thrilling roller coaster ride that concludes in a fireworks display.” – reader review

Overall, I like the story. The part I didn't like was the change in character and events related to Donald Keene. Since this is in the Silo universe, it would have been nice to keep his character the same; but if you separate it from the original Silo stories, it's pretty good.

The adaption of the story

Virtual voice narration hard to take. I’ve heard worse narrations, but this is definitely down there on the bottom. Takes away from the story. Will not recommend the audio version of this one for that reason.
Refreshing take in the series. What is possible when potential isn’t crushed.

Good story- read print version

The book itself was ok, but the entire thing is ruined for me by virtual voice.

Virtual voice is terrible as usual

The conversations between characters are more liked back and forth orations. Very stilted and not at all lifelike. The artificial reader also is poor.

Not up to professional standards.
