Publisher's summary

A former ward of the state, Jason Ferris is fiercely protective of his carefully guarded private life. When he's felled by a rogue lawn ornament at a Christmas party, Jason finds himself in the care of his first and most devastating love - dark, dangerous, and equally damaged Lt. Robb Sharpe.

Newly returned from years away in the military, Robb's homecoming isn't exactly the stuff of fairytales. Now thrust together after a ten year hiatus, the Jason and Robb discover that perhaps some things are worth waiting for.

This is a male/male contemporary Christmas romance, set in rural Connecticut. Sweet and sometimes funny, Simple Gifts is a story of second chances, reconnection, and the simple art of origami.

Good listen.

I enjoy this author very much. Jason was abandoned by his mother at a bus station at six years old by his mother. He spent the next twelve years being shuffled from foster home to foster home with clothes on his back. Robb 's father is in politics and Robb feels out of the family loop. This short story is about these two intensely private and socially dis connected men trying to find a way through and around the obstacles they have created to see if there is a place for them.
