Publisher's summary

A young widow puts her sexy suitors to the test in New York Times best-selling author Julia London's scintillating return to the idyllic Scottish Highlands.

Widowed and forced to remarry in three years' time or forfeit her son's inheritance, Daisy Bristol, Lady Chatwick, has plenty of suitors vying for her hand - and her fortune. But a letter from a long-lost love sends Daisy and her young son to her Scottish Highland estate to buy time for his return. Along the way she encounters the powerful Cailean Mackenzie, laird of Arrandale and a notorious smuggler, and she is utterly - though unwillingly - bewitched.

Cailean has no use for any Sassenach in his glen. But Daisy's brazen, flirtatious nature and alluring beauty intrigue him. When her first love appears unexpectedly at her estate, Cailean knows that a passionate woman like Daisy cannot marry this man. And to prevent the union, Cailean must put his own life at risk to win her heart.

Another exhilarating book!

A love between two people that shouldn't be an option for marriage. A Scottish man and an English woman. There could be trouble for Daisy if she married him. But she loves him.

Gotta love me some, “Sinful Scottish Laird”

Julia London knows how to mix up a bowl of great characters, just the right amount of drama and, a whole lot of Scottish love. Derek Perkins is the frosting on the cake. His narration brings the whole story to life. A big 5 stars to them both!

Fun Listen but not Best of JL

Good adventure and interesting history. Characters were a too contemporary for those times. I found it predictable.

Love this Scottish Highlands Series!

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed the premise of a deceased husband putting restrictions on his widow. I also really enjoyed the two main characters, especially the widow who took her family to a hunting lodge in the Highlands tonget away from the fortune hunters. What I didn't like as much is how resigned both of the main characters were to their fates of needing to live apart. More than 1/2 of the book was spent on this and it was very defeatist and frustrating.

Totally enjoyable! I loved how the attraction grew. Even with Daisy's son Ellis! Narration was terrific!

Rousing!

If you could sum up Sinful Scottish Laird in three words, what would they be?

Highland love affair.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Daisy Bristol, Lady Chatwick, who although widowed was still under her husband's thumb, so to speak. In his will he gave her 3 years to remarry or lose her fortune and her son's inheritance. With only one year left she leaves London traveling to her hunting lodge in the Scotland Highlands to try to help her ailing son, not believing his London doctor's prognosis, and to get away from fortune hunters. She is strong willed and independent.

Which scene was your favorite?

I liked the banter between Daisy and her neighbor the powerful Cailean Mackenzie, laird of Arrandale, and the scenes where she tries unsuccessfully to get the laird to kiss her.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Several, my emotions were involved throughout the story. That's why I couldn't stop listening to it.

Any additional comments?

It's a fast paced book for the most part, very well written and narrated.I highly recommend it to all Historical Romance lovers.
