Editorial reviews

The fourth volume of Selected Stories of Manly Wade Wellman is a grab bag of pulpy horror, paranormal paranoia, and supernatural escapades. Less thematically cohesive than the previous three volumes and the fifth and final volume, these are standalone stories that run the gamut of the occult. Wellman's extraordinary fiction earned him both the Edgar Allan Poe Award and the World Fantasy Award.

Due to his deep voice, prolific performer Brian Troxell is especially gifted at voicing manly men, from laconic cowboys to Southern gentlemen. This volume is full of characters who thrive in Troxell's microphone, whether they're escaping a chilling killer or they're the killer themselves.

Thanks Audible for making this series avaiable!

What made the experience of listening to Sin's Doorway and Other Ominous Entrances the most enjoyable?

The excellent, fun, interesting short stories.

What other book might you compare Sin's Doorway and Other Ominous Entrances to and why?

The Devil is Not Mocked and Other Warnings by Manly Wade Wellman. These are collections of short stories that don't belong to a charachter's series (like Silver John or John Thunstone.) They are fantasy and scifi short stories, often set in the appalachians.

What about Brian Troxell’s performance did you like?

his consistency.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

definintely

Any additional comments?
