This is just one of those books that draws you in fast! I’m not generally a young adult novel reader, so it says a lot when a YA novel can pull you in & not let go!
Siren Calls is fast paced, full of unanswered questions and an amazingly original plot!
Who doesn’t love a good twist when it comes to mermaids!
The YA feel fit really well for the storyline, but don’t let that fool you. There’s still plenty of major emotion and action to keep you on your seat!

In general, Jade has done a wonderful job with characters and setting description :) dialogue hits at just the right time to keep you engaged, and use of inner dialogue is really really well done-bringing you closer to Evie (the main!) and her actual feelings on the craziness that unfolds for her!

The narrator was super easy to follow, and enjoyable to listen to :)

Five stars all around! Can’t wait to read more !

This is the story of a young girl who has been a orphan since 8 yrs old and no memory of the past. This 18 yr old girl is brought to a place where she is to be taught how to use her gifts, but Knowbody will tell her much always keeping her in the dark (Very Frustrating) for her And the readers. Narrator does a good job on this story.

I really appreciated the pace of Book 1 in Jade Frances' fresh and inspiring series 'The Rise of Ares'. This is a first book for mne by this author and I am excited to finish this series and explore more of Jade's offerings. From page 1 the excellent narration by Michelle Shure immediately captures the attention of the listener with engaging hints and clues signposting the adventures to come and the mysteries waiting to be solved. The world-building is subtle but totally captivating as step by step, the nuances of Evangeline's enigmatic life are revealed one morsel at a time. Evangeline presents as a somewhat unformed young person, almost a cipher with so little spark and connection to her life. From the outset however, I was cheering for her and also intrigued by side characters such as Taylor and Ava and the roles they would later take in her life.

A prequel that explores more of Evangeline and Ava's backstory would perhaps be enriching and fun to read.

There was some wrap up of storylines at the end of book 1 and some dark adventures just beginning. A perfect balance: In short, I have to get my hands on Book 2 but there were no obnoxious cliffhangers.

Overall, an inspiring and fresh start to what promised to be a creative and engrossing series. This is a must read for fans (young and old) of supernatural mysteries.

This was a good start of series that kept my interest.
The pacing was a tad to fast in my opinion in that I wasn't able to completely connect with the characters. The world building & characters could use more depth but overall it was a good story. The narrator was great at bringing the story to life.

I really enjoyed this book. All the mystery and magic I can really get my ears into. Narrator has a lovely voice and I'm looking forward to see where this exciting adventure goes..

I enjoyed both the narrator and the author.

a note on the narrator,iv listened to her before, she does a. good job I just find the pace slow for me so I crack it between 1.3 to 1.5.

the story was good, a little confusing at the beginning when she is trying to figure out what is going on and with all the vague messaging. however I do like how the story develops and am interested in out it all played out, will be listening to the next one in the series.

it's a good story, but it's missing some action/reluctance from the leading female. I love Michelle Shure, hence the reason I gave the 5 star performance rating. But, the story itself needs a little more (wth) with the main character. Yes, she is very powerful, and no. She doesn't stick up for herself. The start of this story is the basic. Witch is powerful, and everyone wants to use her. I'll let you know what I think with the next book lol

I wasn’t sure what to expect about this book but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed the story and the premise of Sirens. Something I’ve not read many books that have had them in it. This was a great story with a protagonist that was somewhat predictable but she kept it interesting with her banter and whit. I look forward to hearing what happens next.

Siren Calls is my first book by author Jade Feances but it will definitely not be my last. The book is very well written fast paced book that kept me on the edge of my seat. The characters are engrossing especially with the narration of Michelle Shure who brought them to life and made the story pop. I received this book for free but I am voluntarily leaving this review. I highly recommend this book.
