The narrator made it difficult at times to determine which character she was portraying, because she slipped In and out of character much of the time. Outside of this, I would rate this overall as a five.

Admittedly, some religious fiction strikes me as a little hokey, but Gunn's stories aren't like that at all from what I've read. The messages about God are present in Gunn's stories in the same ways that I experience God in my daily life, in recognizing Him in the things He has made and done and the people He has placed in my life, rather than by the, in my opinion, goofy and overly-dramatized situations that I've read in some Christian fiction novels . I appreciate that Gunn's stories represent this less complicated aspect of our relationship with God.
Almost like I was there
