Sister Chicks do the Hula

I read all of the SisterChick books many years ago and listening to this one was like revisiting an old friend. They are absolutely wonderful books.

Love this story!!!

The author captures the imagination as she deals into the hard parts of the maturing woman. I love this!
The narrator made it difficult at times to determine which character she was portraying, because she slipped In and out of character much of the time. Outside of this, I would rate this overall as a five.

Sweet, funny vacation for the soul

This is one of my favorite summertime books. It captures the sweetness of a friendship between ladies, ETF away, and most of all how magnificent our Lord is! Lots of laughter and lots of deep meaningful moments. I share this book with all my friends! Especially my sister chicks!!

Great Read!!!

As I listened to this book I have only been back from Hawaii a few weeks, also with my oldest friend! What a wonderful way to spend your 40th birthdays! I loved the way Robin wove the Joy of the Lord thru their wonderful experiences! We get grace for the day and an abundant supply of Joy and fun to go along with it.
I hated to come to the end of the book.

The relationship between the 2 women and their love for God!

I loved every aspect of the story! Robin Joe's Gunn has an exquisite way to express each character. Also, her love for making sure a reader hears about God!
Wishing could write a hundred of these books because I would read each one!

Feel good story.

I read this book several years ago and remembered it was a good read. Thought I'd listen to it this time and enjoyed it again although, as a resident of Hawaii, the pronunciation of the Hawaiian words were not quite accurate. Nevertheless the spirit of the book was there. I especially enjoyed the ending/epilogue.

Almost like I was there

I've never been to Hawaii with my best friend, but this book comes pretty close to making me feel as though I have been. The characters were a riot and very realistic. I liked the plot and the humor, and I loved the beautiful descriptions of everything from the scents of the flowers to the details of the people the ladies met in Hawaii. I actually felt like I got to take a short little vacation each morning as I listened to this story.

Admittedly, some religious fiction strikes me as a little hokey, but Gunn's stories aren't like that at all from what I've read. The messages about God are present in Gunn's stories in the same ways that I experience God in my daily life, in recognizing Him in the things He has made and done and the people He has placed in my life, rather than by the, in my opinion, goofy and overly-dramatized situations that I've read in some Christian fiction novels . I appreciate that Gunn's stories represent this less complicated aspect of our relationship with God.
